I was getting pretty good with the Warhammer, but then the game bugged out on me when I was the last one standing in an event match, it wouldn't let me exit the score screen so I could do anything so I was stuck just standing in place looking at the score screen. And while I just said fuck it and waited to die (my entire DEAD team throwing a fucking shitfit the entire time, no matter how many times in chat I said THE GAME BUGGED OUT AND WOULDN'T LET ME MOVE) the game finally crashed. I was then penalized for "leaving a match early."

I haven't played since.

If you survive the first few minutes until the assaults are in place and the mediums and heavies are focusing on each other, you just maneuver in and out of combat dumping hot sticky loads into rear armor and damaged legs. Unless someone is loaded with SRMs or catches you with an AC/20, it's not hard to spend an entire match with the throttle all the way up, destroying components and critting ammo storage.

My Phoenix Hawk is the most Gundamu of the mechs because it actually holds the guns. And last there's my Yen Lo Wang. It has a shield! Almost a mobile suit!

Gausscat all day. It's one of the few basic IS mechs that actually holds a candle to an equivalent class Clan mech. It's still outright inferior to its Clan counterpart but it can slam someone for a deadly 30 damage in an instant and it can headshot if you can finagle the unworkable hitboxes.

Western mechs are like tanks that go 15 kph, the way western mecha legs are designed is usually ridiculously slow and inflexible, they could be much better.

Jap mecha are main battle tanks, western mecha are maus.

There's not a lot that can be done with an IS Assault these days. IIRC the DDC can mount ECM and/or two AMS' so you should go for both of these and pray you don't get smeared due to your shit flexibility and bad hardpoints.
