It appears that they're withholding us all the crazier shit, which is why we only have "Season 1 suits", that is, like in the case of Seed and 00 and Unicorn we only have stuff from the first half.
They'll definitely be giving us the crazier shit in the next version of the game which'll be in a year or two, if not DLC.

Aside of suits in beta, pic related, there were no gameplay footage of other suits. Website doesn't tell that either.
I hardly remember any direct comparison aside of Zeta now having separate combination for transformation and few shots, and it shoots a bit differently than in FB

From what little info the scans provided:

Dom has jet stream attack, beam sabre, giant bazooka
Rick Dias as clay bz and Glue missile (torimochi)
Guntank has core fighter suicide attack, specialize in bombardment and ranged attacks
Vigna is good at "acrobatics actions", high mobility and strong ranged options.
Hi-zack has generic loadout of machine gun and beam rifle
GM Custom is special at not being special, has a "veteran loadout " (wtf?)
Rezel has rocket launchers, beam cannon, high mobility.
Metthus itself has little weapons but can repair hp and recover ammo for your ally.

That's all from today's scan, making up all 94 suits .

So why the fuck do we have to deal with all of these grunt suits

well if I actually had decent ping with any of alive lobbies or JP, it probably would rise to that point over the years.
so maybe you are right, but after this amount of gameplay I doubt anyone will think that few more matches will suddenly change opinion to be similar with tryhards' one.
I'm most certain that regardless matches' amount - it wouldn't change me liking low cost grunt suits tho. I would maybe got better at some expensive tricky suits, but that about it.
