I don't really like Ippei's stuff, most of his designs look like the work of someone who quickly scrambled through a book of industrial design and made some quick pastiche of fundamentals without coming up with a basic unifying concept, almost all of his mechs bar a few from King Gainer lack a visual identity, they're full of particulars but most of those particulars make no sense, nor give a stark identity to the machine.

They're very easily recognizable but when I look at Ippei's stuff I don't think "Wow, that's a cool looking Gundam/PT/Valk/Whatever" like I would do with other designers, I just think "Oh, that's one of Ippei's thingies, wonder what that funky looking part does".

He's a pretty cool artist though, I just like more coherent designers.
