The main issue is that so far it's pulling comparatively low international numbers even compared to the already weak American numbers. 2015 only had Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and the failure of the Fantastic Four reboot for comic book movies. PR should've been released in August or September of that year and would've done much better than 2017.

Lionsgate can't make the sequel in the next 2 years because a fuckton of Marvel movies are coming out in 2018 and 2010 so they need to choose their release carefully.

They finally put direct battles in Legacy Wars.

They also added Abarekiller/Dino Thunder White as well as Mesogog breaking the "There are no Disney Seasons represented" So now I've got hopes that they might add in SPD

Everyone's saying it was good though. Granted, every positive review either comes from literal shills, people who liked it because it has power rangers on the title, people who dont know shit about power rangers and people who dont know what an adaptation is but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Thing is though, as someone who grew up with it and watched it with people who really didn't care for it when they were young, it's not like it was a bad movie.

It's like Transformers first movie with Michael Bay.
It wasn't bad, it wasn't God tier. It was just kinda there, and visually appeasing at points. Most people's biggest gripe is that they held off on the action till the end with the morphing and stuff, hell even the transformation was off screen. Only difference is that power rangers is still going now a days and is widely considered in the public eye as something for kids due to the suits and scripts from the live action show, where Transformers was really appealing to people visually due to all of the robots.

It's a solid 6-7.5/10 movie don't get me wrong, but I just feel like they couldn't decide which audience they wanted to appeal to most, then shot somewhere in the middle and fell short due to the moving being boring/nothing happening in the middle of the movie.

I do hope that they do decide to move to a sequel and push for the Tommy Green with Evil stuff considering lionsgate hit really big with 2016 (la la land, hunger games, deepwater horizon, and hacksaw ridge) but it's hard to tell if they are going to go back. If they did end up doing Green with Evil they could really world build a little more and try and show people that there could be more to see with the PR Universe at least up till Lost Galaxy, but again it's hard to expect them to give a shit about it after that.

There doesn't seem to be any good Super seasons.

Theres also more info from the actors and staff who really wanted to make the show good, but Tzachor hates nice things. It got so bad that even Saban was pissed off apparently.

I loved Forever Red. I know the ending had problems, but it was still great to see all 10 Red Rangers together. Though I kinda wished Rocky would somehow be involved.

Once a Ranger has a lot more issues, but it was still great seeing the Disney Era rangers(and Adam) again too.

I'm going to have to disagree on this. Power Rangers(and Tokusatsu in general) are pretty underground and most of the fans are pretty chill.

I really can think of a major character that get religiously worshiped except for Tommy, but theres a reason he was popular back then. Its mostly JDF who does the cringy stuff about him.

I think a lot of stuff is like that worse for other fanbases. I guess its really only worse when you go to Rangerboard and have a bad time. Also some people like Linkara and Rovang can be WAY too obsessed with it.

Well the season by that point had Magna Defender's arc and Scorpius dying, so as a season with a dead ranger I think it fit.

The point is, MMPR was a very light Saved by the Bell show. It didn't even build a lore yet. Killing Tommy off would just be ever awkwarder for the premise itself. Plus that means a TEENAGER dies.

They could have. It was clear that they didn't have the Ninja Megazord suit but they could've used stock footage like they did so many times in season 2. It didn't make much sense that the monsters didn't return with Rito. I'd have used the stock footage of the individual Zords and had them destroy the 4 monsters to really showcase that they were stronger. In fact that sounds like a fun editing project.

As individual zords half of the Thunderzords seemed a step down, but as a whole I think they seemed like a decent power up, especially the Thunder Megazord. The toy being so much bigger helped, too. Really what was jarring was the transition to Ninjazords. Felt like a lateral move rather than a power up. Which I guess makes sense, they where explained as replacements for the original coins/zords rather than powered up versions. Still, i felt weird going from White/Red's zords individual humanoid zord transformations and the less "cool" animals.

I loved the new movie, and I normally hate PR, but Sentai can be fun.

you wanna know hwo they'd do a sequel to the movie? toy sales, PR toys and merch became bigger than starwars, marvel and transformers this year, that movie had a part in it, so they could do another movie, but it'd have about the same amount of action, and might have the first ever "can not be decombined" megazord so they can save on costs.

In the UK, and sales there are only up 23% from last year.

I've already discussed this on /toy/, but even if it retained that 23% increase for the remainder of the year, if the increase was purely from movie toy sales, and if it was worldwide versus just the UK, it still wouldn't be enough to get the film a sequel because according to their annual report Bandai only made about $165 million last year off PR/Sentai toys, and a 23% increase on that figure would be less than $40 million.

Mind you that wouldn't account for production/manufacturing costs, but even if it was $40 million pure profit that still doesn't even recoop the cost of the film's budget and marketing. The reality of the situation is that the profit made off movie toys will be considerably less than 23%, so yeah... no chance at a sequel whatsoever. None.

Having liked it as a kid and rewatching it during the Twitch marathon, it's honestly average. The characters are too established early on and aren't as fun to watch or develop, and new power-ups/zords are not even earned. WF started to improve after a shift to more villain focus and the TF crossover but still had too many rough spots to be considered "legitimately good." Simply average.

Something just happened I through would amuse you guys .
My brother turns 2 next month and is obsessed with power rangers. He has been binging through spd and mystic force on Netflix (and yes, kids today can work a tablet before they know the abcs). I sit on the remote and turn it off, so he pitches a fit. I type in Power Rangers and Mega force comes on and he fucking riots until I put Mystic force on. And it wasn't just on a slow part, it was the big final battle at the end.

tldr: Even one year olds hate megaforce.

So, how is the MMPR comic in general? I was pretty turned off by an alternate future arc where the Green Ranger takes over with all the other rangers becoming Green Rangers too. It felt a little too much.

It's... interesting. You can tell the Kyle Higgins really has plans for the series, but most of the time it comes off like he's trying too hard to make people take the book seriously.

That said, it is fun to see the cast taken through every standard superhero plot in the book. And the annuals so far have been great vignettes, highly recommended in my opinion.
