Started watching this with those subs we found last time we had a thread. Realising they're a tiny bit more crabsticky than I thought - 'Nami' even though the VAs clearly say Jim, KenRyu and BaiKanFu being 'Dragon Sword' and 'the ultimate Machine Robo' respectively, and a lot of mixups over just which villain is Gades, when it's clear. A lot of the rest is fine, there's the odd bit where lines don't fit and are carried over to the next time someone talks. Would consider a rewrite if I felt like it.
Digging this thing though, it really is mecha Hokuto no Ken, Rom's habit of jumpkicking mecha heads clean off is delicious. Didn't know the humans were basically Reploids. Loving the style and designs. So many of these chars had toys I remember from my 80s childhood, especially since they're not bastardised GoBots, whose show messed with the designs far too much.

Seriously if they really want to they could go for the entire Legend of Wolf Sword series by the same designer.
Machine Robo is only a small chapter of it.

Dear god this shading porn. Love how this show'll do that from time to time. There's some amusing perspective quirks this show does that don't always look quite right, too. A few times Leina's tripped over and resembled typical THICC art.

They seem like chinese bootleg subs cus there's bizarre chinese words in english at times that are never referred to again. Also love the translation of Rom's master's style as HEAVENLY PUNCH! even though he might be mid kick yelling it.

Wish some kind anon would rip these subs so they can be downloaded elsewhere. Don't like the idea of Youtube being the sole place to watch something where they're vulnerable to being taken down if some bot files a copyright claim.

Sometimes there's no other choice. Full Eto Ranger subs, good Gulkeeva subs and the entirety of the Spectreman dub among others are also YT-only.
