Except there's no evidence this is the case and its feats are better than most beam weapons in the franchise. In fact there's a better case for G Gundam's beams to be weak because they routinely bounce off armor even though Chapman somehow won 3 gundam fights with a single beam rifle and only lost to Master Asia.
