I wouldn't say it's jarring, but it's definitely pretty different for the first half. Around episode 20 it changes tone and is really great from then on. I'd also suggest waiting a bit before starting it. Whatever you do, skip the first episode as it's just a recap of Z.

Yeah it's a change-up from where Zeta was at the end.
]It directly picks up from there and addresses what to do about the unresolved issues of Zeta, but it's a very different tone.

I like ZZ.
As long as you brace yourself and give the clips show as a cool down you'll manage.

Don't expect anything like closure for the ending of Zeta. The ending of Zeta is forever unsatisfying.
