What are your thoughts on the ending and the show as a whole?

I felt rather confused at the ending even though it did explain everything related to the plot. I need more closure than that dammit. What was the point of the show?

The point was to really feel.

It's a top ten for me honestly. The visual direction, music, and just the general /m/elancholy really appeal to me. I also love episodics.

It's a really depressing show, but there's a ton of really beautiful stuff in it.

Why did people say it implied Ringo would fuck Casshan? I never got that impression.

It does have a great visual direction and all that, but it was very hit and miss at times especially when they were trying to save money in the 2nd half, and when they kept reusing A Path to make moments seem better than they actually were.

Though I liked the random episodes with stories more than the plot focused ones. Also, I hate how they never recapped all the people in the world that affected and had an impact on Casshan at the end. Really disappointed at that.

And the end fight with Dio was a major letdown. People said "aww, man, that end fight. Totally worth it" when it really wasn't. Dio was literally a cuck. And who is the father of Leda's child aka totally not Ringo?

I also recall the professor and Braiking Boss telling Ryuze that Casshern was pretty much only good to fight. In episode... 9 I believe? And that was why he was sent to kill Luna.

I wish the ending was a little more coherent. But otherwise, I really loved the show. First half was stronger for me, and the more serialized second half fell a little flat, but the animation and atmosphere made up for it. The animation style might be one of my favorites in animation. I'm a sucker for colors and stylization.

I think it goes in line with Braiking Boss' plan to surpass humankind. His empire was able to produce robots that look like people, think and grow like them too; but he wanted robots who could bear children, perhaps as the ultimate middle finger to humanity. Really puts a different spin on the term 'neo-human.'

When did the Ruin even start by the beginning of the show? They always say a long time ago, but it couldn't have been more than a few years.

However, we see a robot woman holding a robo baby, so the Ruin couldn't have started that long ago, right? Unless, some robots can age like Lyuze and others can't.

I really don't get that vibe. From what the show itself presents, it's more like all this was there before the war and that humans lived alongside robots with them creating children instead of having them like a human.

Then again, they never exactly hinted at much, but it's one of those shows where it is left up to interpretation.

Luna was more or less Gaia and she gave a normal life to those who sought salvation and to those who became immortal through science and shit, but they said that she was created by mankind or something along those lines in episode 17 yet they act like she's God who has always existed.

And Braiking was a robot who decided that he had enough of humanity's shit and of them flocking to Luna as a God, so he started his world domination. The former before the latter, though.

Braiking Boss was pretty much the king of the world before the Ruin set in. He made Casshern, Dio and Leda as a new generation of robots that would presumably surpass mankind, and had Casshern kill Luna because he claimed that folks were getting tired of her eternal life schtick.
