Yea, I don't think it's even been particularly respected on /m/. It's useful as a guide to various suits like the Gundamwiki, though for a wider scope of shows than just Gundam and I find it quite useful in helping narrow down a particular episode of a show if there's a webm I want to make or what not, but outside those areas I don't care about it and I'm pretty sure most of /m/ doesn't care about the opinions of their forums, podcasts or whatever else.

While true, Gundam Wiki got 80% of it's info directly from MAHQ (literally, some blurbs are copy/pasted) and it's not uncommon for information to be unaccurate and poorly sourced. At the very least, you can count on MAHQ to be accurate.

The problem is most of them aren't, and are published decades after a series with little supervision from Sunrise production staff, sometimes even written by people that don't actually work for Sunrise. Master Archive, for example, is my favorite book because it brings up a lot of interesting lore tidbits about GMs and the RX-78 family that make perfect sense, but unfortunately, a lot of it is horseshit.

The only source anybody should really take 100% at face value is Gundam Century, which actually WAS written by 0079's original staff, cleaning up Tomino's messy setting notes into a cohesive backstory that Sunrise uses today.

The funny thing about that is that Gundam Century itself is pretty outdated, like saying SUIT is an acronym. Although it did say that the operation british colony hit Sydney, that wasn't something officially adopted by Gundam until the mid 90s since 0080 still references Sydney as being an existing city.
