Why aren't Basara and Sivil a couple?
She had to follow her SPIRITIA DREAM
>>15510498
FUCK, this show is so bad
>>15510498
I guess the staff was divided about the endgames and nips take shipping faggotry very seriously.
>>15510498
Because having sex with an spacial spirit vampire can't end very well
>>15510614
your a shit
Because that's going to happen in the next M7 OVA.
>>15510498
>Basara
>romance
His only interest is in people listening to his song.
>>15510498
>Why aren't Basara and Sivil a couple?
Because Basara doesn't fuck.
Does she even have a vagina?
No really think about it. She's a member of a vampiric species that increased their numbers through Zent brainwashing. Would they need sex>
>>15510498
Basara is too autistic to have sex.
>>15513224
Their bodies were made by the Protoculture which wasn't the most rational sounding thing by association of that alone.
>>15513131
>>15510498
>Why aren't Basara and Sivil a couple?
Basara is married to music, he is fucking impervious to the charm of ladies human or alien . You should know that is you've watched Macross 7.
>>15511591
>Because having sex with an spacial spirit vampire can't end very wel
Brings back memories of Lifeforce and Matilda May.
>>15511591
I'll be the judge of that.
please come back
I miss you
Macross 7 was last good MacrossSivil isn't a best girl tho
>>15511591
You don't even need to have sex with her. Just play some songs from the band Journey and she'll be having orgasms within a few minutes.
>>15510498
If Sivil and the surviving Proto-deviln didn't go off to another dimension then there'd be almost immortal beings that can survive in a vacuum, tank macross cannons, create black holes and only need music to sustain them to explain away in further shows. Which would somewhat defang any potential antagonists you want to introduce or stories you want to tell. They had to go, for the same reason the Vajra had to go, because they're simply too powerful to keep around.
In story the excuse is that Basara didn't see her as a love interest. I don't think he saw anyone as a love interest, least of all the designated love interest Mylene. Rex (the biker chick) or Emilia Jenius are probably better love interests anyway.
>>15510498
Screw that. Why aren't they dead and forgotten? Both of them are obnoxious and auditory offensive.
>>15515708

tfw that little faggot kid has seen things more wonderful than you ever ill
Sivil is the only person for whom Basara showed a real interest
>>15520848
>TFW you will never play guitar in a grassy field for your space vampire waifu
why is she so perfect
>>15513364
This. It honestly baffles me that people actually think there was any sort of romantic element to Basara's fixation with Sivil. Basara would have done exactly the same thing if Gigil had been the one comatose in that park. He just wanted to sing at people, and Sivil was a particular point of fascination for him due to her previous reactions to his musicand the fact that she's comatose and therefore can't say no.That's all.
On a side note, Submarine Street is a damn good song, and the "Basara tries to wake up Sivil" episodes were the best part of the tv series.Heart and Soul is the best M7 song overall, though. Hell, it's not just the best song in 7, it's the best song in the entire franchise.
>>15521142The scene with Gigil singing and then it suddenly cuts off mid verse as he dies was one of the saddest moments in the franchise.
>>15521142
Angel Voice is better.
>>15520848
He didn't show any romantic or sexual interest in her though.
>>15521260
Their relationship is a bit hard to describe. It goes beyond simple fascination and curiosity after she took him on the galaxy tour he was clearly quite taken with her, she had some effect on him that no one's even come close too.
It's more like the compliment each other in ways that others can't really understand I suppose. Even romantically it's often very hard to find someone who just clicks with you
>>15521525
I'd dispute the 'quite clearly' part and say that if you can't describe something it's probably a good sign it doesn't exist.
>>15521604
And I'd say you're a shallow petty little man
>>15511591
The part when Sivil showed Gigil and Basara the ginga was one of the best what do you mean sex won't go well!
>>15510498
They aren't romance characters. Still the closest thing to a waifu for Basara.
>>15510498
They are a couple in SRW.
>>15522232
Legit?
>>15521620
I'd say you have no proof, either of me being shallow or Basara and Sivil having a romantic attraction. Not being able to describe something doesn't make it subtle, because you can describe subtle cues and relations.
>>15522337
>except for the fact they kissed there is no romantic attraction between them
>>15522338
> the kiss which shocks Basara and which he makes no effort to reciprocate on any level
> a kiss that ends with Sivil literally being blown across the colony because it causes an explosion
> after which Basara wonders what it was and brushes it off as nothing
Wow, how romantic. If you're going to count that as romantic then he has an even more apparent interest in Rex, who kisses him a few episodes later, and who he tells afterwards that they'll continue later - with the episode's ending including Basara and Rex cuddling with Basara telling her he doesn't mind if she does that, and then asking if she'll listen to his song.
>ywn rock so hard that you give a space vampire multiple consecutive orgasms from the sheer passion burning like a million suns in every single note of your song
>>15513353
THANKS for the HD!!!
>>15522471
>> after which Basara wonders what it was and brushes it off as nothing
if by brushes off you mean becomes single minded obsessed with finding her
The reason why Basara was interested in Sivil
>>15522868
The guitar, right?
Sivil a cute!
>>15510614
It has an awfully drawn out beginning but once past that, it's definitely anything but shit.
>>15522819
If by single-mindedly obsessed with finding her you mean he barely thinks about her for the following couple of episodes, never actually goes to find her and only ends up in the same place as her because Gigil kidnaps him and literally drops him at her feet. Even then his obsession is with making her listen to his song, and transferal of a desire to make the enemy listen to his song he's displayed since the first episode because she's the first enemy that's actually listened to his song and shown some affinity for it.
>>15510614
This is not a Delta thread.
Macross 7 could've been a GOAT show if they had condensed the first 20 episodes some more. It's downright painful to watch, until the arc of the separation of Battle 7 and City 7, then it becomes so much fun to watch.
>>15523014
Delta was amazing in its first cour.
It's the second cour that dropped everything and got to the point I'd rather binge watch the first 20 episodes of M7.
>>15523022
>Delta was amazing in its first cour
>>15523018
AS much as a I love Fire Bomber music I cannot stand Planet dance
>>15523025
They had so much great music and yet they play Planet Dance like 40 times. It's such a terrible thing to be witness of.
>>15523022
Delta's first episode is fantastic, and introduces some really fun premises in the Immelman Dance, tactical idols, supporting drones, backup dancer VFs and the like but the show doesn't make any use of most of them even in the rest of the first cour. Backup dancer VFs and tactical idols are never a thing again, the supporting drones appear once more just to be useless and the Immelman Dance maybe twice more. I think the show was already showing signs of problems by episode 6 or so because of things like that. It revived for 3 episodes around the half way mark (was it 11, 12 & 13?) with Messer's death and the subsequent battle but there were several rather rote episodes in a row before that where the Windermerean's would appear, Messer and Keith would zwee fight across the battlefield to no result, Mirage would yell "Delta 5", the battle would end with no real consequence and things would go back to basically status quo.
>>15523023
Definitely better than catching "space tuna" or laughing at dumplings that look like boobs, if you ask me.
>>15523039
I think the first 5 or so episodes are great. They show the protagonist learning to be a military flight, having an unconventional but brilliant tactical mind, right out of the Shounen rulebook. Then they piss away the rest of the show with nonsensical boring nonsense.
Could Basara communicate with the Vajra? I mean, those space whales sure as fuck didn't know Japanese and he got through to them.
>>15523046
The Vajra actually get so irritated by his singing that they die. This is from SRW.
>>15523057
>>15523041
You really need to compare it to utter dog shit to come to the conclusion that Delta first cour was "amazing".
>>15523062
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgWIgVubWpI
You can see him removing Vajra from the map at ~3:00, but Sivil makes a cool entrance before that.
>>15523076
>>15523161
Sivil-san sugoi!
>>15523161
>>15523176
>>15523182
>>15523187
>>15523182
how'd they get this design on prime time TV in the 90's?
>>15523253
Naked tits were around in the 80's, so this isn't much really.
>>15523267
i understand the 80's but Japan had gotten so puritan in the 90's that it seems crazy that Sivil managed to be OK.
>>15523315
It's okay to show something that clearly harkens to a censored subject, just so long as it's not an imitable version of the censored subject. You can show laser guns or bazookas because kids generally can't buy or use them, but you can't use handguns. You can show outrageous outfits that are really just recolored skin with maybe some squiggles to make the nipples look different, just not naked nipples because so long as they're not openly nipples they're A-OK. That's my read of it at least.
>>15523267
Depends on the show. Ryu Knight for instance blocked the entire audience away from seeing Katze's tats. And she threatened them to charge for it if they saw them.
Meanwhile, Victory had that infamous bath scene.
>>15523339
And what a scene that was.
>>15523315
There's nothing wrong with that. There would be no good women in the world if Japan experienced the neoliberal insanity the same way as the west. Even Sivil has some of those positive elements.
>>15523463
But Japan eventually did. They are on a full uptick of crazy puritan politics still, banning the depiction of genitals and buttholes like it was the 1950's.
>>15523161
>>15523493
The difference is that the Japanese are puritans individually as well as in fiction while Westerners want fictional women to never dress in a revealing way while it's the norm to be a skank in reality. It's still okay to evaluate a woman's quality in Japan, but shows like Thunderbolt and IBO make me worried.
>>15523910
>Westerners want fictional women to never dress in a revealing way
That's just western women who are afraid men will stop worshiping their fat asses and start jerking it to sexy cartoon characters instead.
