correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the introduction sequence a reference to one of the yuusha shows? I want to say Might Gaine but I'm not sure.

The shoulder flex and point to forehead thing is very Might Gaine. It may be in other yuusha, but I've only seen GGG and Might Gaine so I'm unsure.

Now the point to the forehead thing was actually done by Daitarn 3 back in the 70s. Obari fucking loves Daitarn 3, and it's a clear influence in his style.

This LWA sequence is a great example of how well the Obari/Braves style meshes well with the Trigger/Gurren Lagann style. I would love to see Trigger do a Braves style show. It would be a ton of fun.

Honestly, pointing to the sky is very much a Gurren Lagann thing. I'm sure that was the influence for that particular shot.

Now technically, Great Mazinger points to the sky when using Thunder Break and G Gundam points to the sky in a shot in the opening about the Gundam fights IIRC. That's all I can think of personally. If it is a reference to something more specific, then I just don't know it.
