Thought this might be a fun thread to have. Post them bosses.
The Darkstalkers series has Huitzil, the killer Mayan robot who was originally a sub-boss before becoming playable in later games. One of the most formidable attacks he had as a sub-boss in the first game was his laser which would chip away at you over and over again if you tried to block it, leading to more damage than if it had actually hit. Of course that was toned down once he became playable.
While the Tinker Tub is more memorable, Risky Boots had spent the entire first game building this thing here.

Kyza from iNinja was such a fucking glorious fight. Man that game was just so good all around.

RULES OF NATURE
>>15496534
AND THEY RUN WHEN THE SUN COMES UP
DELETE... YOU!
Still my favorite fighting game boss even if her retarded AI makes the actual battle rather anti-climactic.
>>15498245
Dat theme.

I loved the robot designs in PN03 but I don't see a good picture of the tank/phoenixwhich was my favourite.
>>15498269
Looks like an Alien
Binary Domain is one of the greatest /m/ games ever made, and it has a lot of amazing bosses. My favorite is the Tsar Runner, a giant robot snake motorcycle that transforms into a rollerblading snakeman.
>>15504486
Another honorable mention is the Grand Lancer, who looks really cool for a tutorial boss.
>>15504486
>>15504492
>another Binary Domain fan
My nig. The robot mook designs are so good as well.
>>15494398
>No Tinker mode with different mechs to use
It's a shame
>>15506989
If it were up to me the DLC Knights would have been Tinker, Treasure, and Propeller.
>>15504492
Man BD was fucking great.
Lot of games still don't offer the spectacle that this game does.
Also Grand Lancer is a fucking awesome name.
Can we count space ships too?
ChoRenSha has some top-fucking-tier boss designs.
Also basically every boss from Metal Slug.
>>15508865
Sure.
im the only one who played this game
Previous games had robots, but I didn't expect this.
>>15508865
Sure thing, I think Toaplan did one where you end up piloting a giant robot.
The original Final Fantasy superboss.
>>15510237
When did they add mechs to SK? I only played the first 3DS game.
I was thinking of getting PBS since I liked Splatoon. Is there a girl that uses mechs now?
>>15510592
The 3ds games had some enemy robots, but in Estival Versus they actually added some small mechs you can mount, and PBS has them too. There's not really much advantage on using them, but are a nice little detail.
>>15494414
Seriously, fuck huitzil.
>>15510190
What game is it?
Most Metal Slug bosses are pretty /m/
>>15508822
>>15494398
The MAWLR was really cool.
Killzone in general is pretty underrated as far as sci fi FPS's go.
>No one posted the best one yet
What is Platinum games' obsession with robots anyway?
>>15517765
Everyone likes robots
>>15517765
They're /m/ folks, obviously. Hell, that was also seen even in their Clover Studio days. Heck, the God Hand credits theme is a Mazinger Z theme parody.
>>15508865
Spaceships are just limbless mecha, so of course.
>>15517765
They're Japanese middle-aged men who love the ever-loving fuck out of over-the-top action.
You might as well be Pope if most of the people on the team weren't /m/en and wo/m/en at heart.
C&C has had a few.
>>15508864
Stupid dissonance between official art and in-game sprites.
>>15520123
>You might as well be Pope if most of the people on the team weren't /m/en and wo/m/en at heart
What?
>>15520169
>What?"If you are *something unbelievable*, then I am Pope."
>>15517739
The ISA EXO and Helghast ATAC are pretty cool
>>15520307
>>15520038
I really want them to make a super robot game. Like, I think they'd do a TTGL game as well.
>>15520808
Maybe that's what they'll do next if they don't die.
>>15494414
>Mayan robot
>Clearly modeled after ancient Japanese figurines
Capcom, please.
I finished Binary Domain last night, what a wild ride. Thoroughly underrated game with some great visual design and satisfying, if not very innovative, TPS gunplay. Shooting mecha-mooks to bits felt so very good.
Characters ended up pretty likeable too, Cain a best
>>15523083
As far as I remember there were several scattered all over the world, and the one that awoke happened to be in Mexico
>>15520808
Why do you want that?
>>15524822
Scott Cawthon is a fucking genius at mechanical design. I can't even hate FNAF because the robots are all cool looking.
Well, i guess the game was fun while it lasted....
>>15527429
Not the bosses but goddamn I want figures of these badly.
>>15523083
These are the same people who made a Spanish ninja, after all.
>>15527438
What happened to it?
Not sure if this counts
>>15517765
With incredible final boss theme to boot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTw7zPf84I4
>>15529110
what the game? its sorta dieing out, minimal updates.
>>15524822
>>15527429
>>15528464
What game is this?
>>15531721
The first one is The Pilgrim's Progress, which isn't much of an /m/ game. The other is The Desolate Hope, which is definitely /m/. It's free on Steam. Both were made by Scott Cawthon of Five Nights at Freddy's fame, but don't play like those games at all.
>>15520038
Credits aside, God Hand also has the Jeeg-esque Doctor Ion.
>>15523083
Capcom basically is japanese Blizzard. Don't turn to them looking for interesting or innovative designs.
Surprised no ones mentioned Einhander yet.

Making a 3D game involving mecha for fun and wondering something. Is there a manifesto somewhere on good mecha design?
Also asking for general design advice/things to avoid. So far I've planned to have Mark I and II genera-purpose exoskeletons (2~3x human size), a multi-purpose industrial model (detachable drill/crane/other stuff and caterpillar/inchworm-style tank track movement), and a knight class somewhat similar to the beginning mech in Metal Warriors.
>>15535464
Optimistic bump.
>>15535464
>Is there a manifesto somewhere on good mecha design?
Sadly, no.
Otherwise we wouldn't be drowning in tons of terrible designs on Deviant Art and even professional productions to this day.
>when the boss is the same size as you
>>15537676
RICHAAAARD
>>15510190
Nope, Anon, I also played it and those two were actual influences in my mech design because I thought they looked fucking cool.
>>15513560
Gekioh/Shienryu, you should be able to play it on MAME, I think?
>>15494398
Girl version
>>15531736
Aw man that boss looked so damn epic. Too bad the actual fight was lame
>>15540486
The entire game was pretty lame in my opinion. Didn't even have fucking mecha Hitler.
>>15540281
>Nope, Anon, I also played
mein nigroes, Thunder ammo>missile ammo
Need more Armored Core here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=932mooNi5ak
>>15540444
You can't just slap twintails on someone and call it a girl
>>15540830
It's not like they had much options with Tinker Knight.
>>15540500
Fuckin' agreed.
Also another boss I remembered before, anyone remember this fucker?
>He even does the classic launching sequence and everything
Love fighting this dude.
There was also that boss in the first level of the game that was piss easy, especially if you shoot his legs.
Star Fox has a good handful of mecha in it in general.
>>15541255
YOU COCKY LITTLE FREAK

LET YOUR COUNTRY CONTROL YOUR SOOOOOUL
>>15520029
What about chicks?
>>15520038
>>15534574
Nobody ever seems to notice Elvis(most notable in the first battle) is also /m/.
His dashing is like the Dom's movement, and the dark energy covered palm thrust and flying attack are references to Master Asia
>>15495019
I love video game levels that take place in or around a giant robot or vehicle that's in the process of being built. Only other instance I can think of off the top of my head is in Jak and Daxter, where one area has you platforming in a mine where the giant Precursor robot is being excavated.
>>15510557
I always see that the dot on the lens as an eyeball, and instead Warmech just looks really goofy instead.
>>15513720
I always saw Tani-Oh as cute
>>15537390
Aw yeah
Robot fish battleships and groovy music all day every day
>>15529251
Think of it like Tekkaman Blade
Treasure also has a legion of great mecha throughout its games.
>>15547661
They can dig it.
Can't forget Buriki Daioh
>>15523083
>he thinks the Japanese came up with that design
Idiot, it was the ancient space aliens who taught humans all over the globe advanced secrets.
>Go see the world-orld-orld
;_;
Goddamn I loved the way this boss entered

Oh hey, it's a Boomer.
Come to think of it, Shattered Soldier is full of robo bosses, the train one for me stands out though.
fucking love this game
https://youtu.be/1SsFSEwJrZM?t=5m26s
You know, looking back, this boss wasn't as hard as I thought it was on first playthrough. Still pretty fucking annoying though.
Bucket wheel excavator--bucket wheel+AI+all the guns=profit. Also, I think it's the most "plausible" of the AI weapons for some bizarre reason. Maybe because it's based on something familiar rather than the usual Metal Gear chicanery.
