Closest I can get off the top of my head who can match Cosmo in terms of having a hard life would be Kappei. Sole survivor of his own final battle, and got fed demotivational bullshit from both sides of the fence. The worst thing any Buff Clan character has ever said to any of the Solo crew would basically amount to 'You have Ide, you're going to kill us all!' Gaizok, on the other hand, was probably trying to get Kappei to join the dark side.

It was less Gaizock trying to get him to join up, it was more of Butcher yelling him that they suffered for no good reason and no one will care or thank then for their selfless sacrifice and it was all for nothing, and Gaizock finishes the Wambo Combo saying that humanity is a threat to the universe and itself and even though they won, it was an empty victory.

Since people have been so positive about Be Invoked, am I able to sit down and watch it without having seen Ideon itself? I watched the first 6 or so episodes years ago and know bits of the plot moving forward (Buff Clan are dumbasses trying to destroy something that only further awakens the more they attack it, thus accelerating their deaths; the crew themselves never really understand Ideon, and are scared of it but knowingly use it). Always seemed like a really cool show, but the pacing of older shows tends to kill my interest andI end up taking months/years on 26 ep shows alone.

I love Ideon, but the show's twice as long as it needs to be. If you thought the story of White Base dragged on, wait until you get onto the Solo Ship. Honestly, if you are just tangentially interested in the series, you can watch the movies "A Contact" and "Be Invoked" and get most of the experience. You have to watch Be Invoked if you watch the series anyway.

So wait, what the fuck happened? Ideon was the villain? It was trying to get humans and the Buff Clan to destroy each other? Or was it trying to get them to reconcile? What the fuck was Messiah, and what the fuck was that planet? Were they living there now? Did they just become the fucking water? What's the point of reconciling them if they just turn into water? What the fuck?

The jist is that Ideon was judging both Humanity and Buff Clan whether or not they were worth saving. So it provoked a conflict by shooting fucking meteors at both Earths. Instead of reconciling, they just kept trying to kill each other.

Piper is supposed to be pure in heart because they havent developed the aggression and evil that the adults have. Messiah, as the child of a Human and a Buff Clan, is supposed to be even purer.

The ending is fairly ambiguous, but it seems like Ideon reset the Universe (or specifically the Buff Clan and Humanity) and Messiah is leading everyone's souls to a new planet where either they will be reborn, or some other new life can begin.
