the actual US vs Japan fight hasn't happened yet but has been scheduled
If it disappointments whether the result being lackluster or some controversy emerges, I don't see it taking off.
Also, the Chinese spent 14 million on there's so the investors probably want their money's worth
That said, it's neat how each robot continues to reflect the country they're from
>Megabot is based on Western mecha design
>Kurata is based on Japanese real robot anime (mostly Armored Trooper Votoms)
>Monkey King is based on Chinese mythology
>>
Looks weak, but I'm not complaining, since we're obviously living in the G Gundam Timeline.

It's based on the Monkey King from Journey to the West, a 16th century classical novel

Surprised Kogoro Kurata hasn't responded to this announcement
He made the Kurata so that giant robot battles could be real (and that he was tired of waiting for them to be made) and was disappointed when Americans challenged him before any other Japanese engineer did.

I think he liked the movie but was slightly disappointed at how Crimsom Typhoon went down first

>Talk a John deer walking tractor. Swap out the cabin for a tank turret with arms on both sides of the turret.
That's not as feasible as you might think...
The Turret Basket and Turret Ring Diameter of a modern MBT would greatly exceed the entire width of the Timberjack, let alone the cabin.
Honestly, you'd be better off trying to weaponize the hydraulic arms they already can equip and armoring up the cab.
That said, you'd probably need a two man cab set up like the Megabots to split the work of maneuvering the bot while operating the arm in combat, not to mention a HUGE overhaul to increase walking machine speeds to non-sluggish.

Wait.
Just found another article.
>Jizhan,a Shanghai-based robotics company, has claimed success in its mission to create a giant combat robot. The company is now inviting foreign counterparts to challenge this robot fighter.
>”We are now sending an official invitation to all Japanese and American combat robots,” the company wrote. "Our robot can fight two attackers at the same time in the Fight My Bots Competition (FMB).”
>The Dawei prototype made its global debut on the banks of Huangpu River last year on Sept. 15, after more than half a year of research and development. Dawei’s pattern of red flames and Taotie (one of four evil fiends in Chinese mythology) is set off by a solemn black background. The mix of red and black embodies the vigor of China and the mysterious nature of the Orient. The robot's powerful structure gives a high-tech feel that can typically be found only in science fiction.

Made a rough translation on Google translate
>He has two technically advanced mode of operation, not only can sit in the cab control control, engineers can also use the exoskeleton to do natural action to control the Granville to fight. He is 3.6 meters tall and weighs 2.5 tons at 4km / h. For such a monster, it has been very fast. Its left hand grasp the distance of 150 kg, not only can pick up a variety of heavy weapons, but also easy to crush the metal petrol barrels; his right hand to take out a full hammer of 200 kg, you can easily breakdown a whole brick wall. His shoulder and flamethrower, you can also spray 1.5 meters of fire pillars, so that opponents cause high temperature damage. Limited by the laws of China, Granville can not have long-range weapons, only close combat. Even so, compared with other robots, this disadvantage, in its strong structure and strong attack and not under the teeth.

Yeah, but those are more folding struts to connect the tread-base with the upper body.
Remember the power-plant is still ON the tread base, hence needing to thread the hydraulics through the legs.

>jetliThere is a global trend regarding robots and battles. This seems to be taking the art of fighting to the next level. I have trained extensively throughout my life to push the physical boundaries. Now it seems like it can be realized in a different form with advancement in technology. Imagine taking the spirits of Taiji and delivering its true grit through an external body armor of a giant robot, this is an evolution and revolution for martial arts.
Recently at GMIC in China, I was announced as a co-founder as well as the global ambassador for “King of Bots”, a program developed by a group of young entrepreneurs in China called “Themakers”, who will bring robot fighting to the world through a reality show coming this October.

They have concept art for stuff they want to make and looking through their account, they really want to get into robot matches

From Google translate
>Always concerned about the giant robot fighting us, has been unable to stand. You have only a group of guncrackers, we have created our giant robots. Now, you are officially challenged.
>To China, the two of you hit me. I can even take on your travel expenses.
>Is to continue to be a coward, or do a warrior, to accept the challenge?
>Like a man, and we fight one. At any time, as long as you like, at any time to fight with me.

They also seem to be unaware of the Megabot kickstarter and had no idea that the fight was delayed for melee combat.
>The words are better than words and words. Has been a war about ten months time , there is no sign of any fighting began. Is why?
>Is it forgotten? But Japan and the United States, crusade interaction, an endless stream.
>Is it counseling? Like an ostrich buried in his head, insects pretend to die. It seems that as long as not mentioned, you can use to avoid this war.

Roughly translated on Google translate
>1. How did the "great sanctuary " be born? Can you share his creative process more with us?
>Sun Shiqian : In 2014, when I was in the official tour of the four exhibition time, originated in front of Beijing, and then in many places one after another on display. Someone will ask me why should the foreign robot to the domestic? Even in the front door of this "Dragon" place, touched me and a lot of reflection. So at that time I was determined to do a series of our Chinese wind robots, they must have the cultural connotation of China.
>After repeated consideration, I decided to do 12 zodiac machine version, and spent three years to temper a script and world view set, the great holy number is actually 12 zodiac machine version of the series which made out of the fifth, I To this work named "monkey - reincarnation" Great St..
>The specific creation process and drawings of the great sage, I have been a few years ago to outline the good, and many friends and artists discussed. We gave a lot of good advice. And later saw Japan's rice bridge armor, and then later Japan and the United States armor century war, decided to let the holy war with the combat function, because the holy is the hearts of each of our people recognized hero, must take It is done well, and I hope our armor is better than the existing evolution.
>Such as the Japanese armor is wheeled, the United States is the driving force, the Great St. on the choice of more difficult four-foot walk, so I think only have the qualifications of war, rather than a US and Japanese armor cottage version, So the Great St. is not only to do a static robot so simple, it only needs to have the appearance of beauty can be, this is not difficult. But it has a lot of technical difficulties to overcome.

>As a central beauty, in a very long stage, I was thinking and looking for my own creative direction, because contemporary art in today's flourishing, but it is difficult to be unique, so I finally decided to follow my own heart, engaged in my favorite Of the robot art creation, in the creative process gradually will be a simple static robot and industrial technology and electronic technology, in the process of forming my research and development center, made a lot of attempts, I hope that the great saint will be a cohesion The art of this era of cognition, and industrial machinery aesthetics, as well as ergonomic and structural mechanics of cross-border works.
>2. In addition to G FESTIVAL debut, " Great St. " What is the next plan?
>Sun Shixian : In the past few years, I personally support the 12 zodiac's dream, while hard work, creation, while the reward will be almost all invested in the 12 zodiac mech R & D production, before the big saint do The four zodiac machinery. But because of time and personal financial reasons, the Great St. is currently only completed 1.0 or even 0.5 version, can only achieve part of the default function, so then I will first think of ways to raise funds, if there is no funds I will continue to own Hard to go on, to upgrade the holy number, to achieve the desired design, so that it as soon as possible to combat needs, the lack of time and investment. Eliminate all difficulties, for the early to make 12 satisfied with the Zodiac Octopus.
>At the same time, I will try to write the story of the three years of the holy number and the zodiac's mech, tell you that the holy number is not only a mechanical armor, in my heart it is a flesh and blood of the hero, at the same time Will also be our traditional culture and virtue of the Chinese people into the story which, trying to let the world see the Chinese style of the robot art.

>So the past few years I have used different works to try to solve different technical difficulties, such as 2015 and B station and Ai.frame cooperation 'bilibili' is China's first large-scale exoskeleton synchronization robot, we use this Works to test and solve the Great St. armor of the external skeletal upper limb operation synchronization technical difficulties.

>We have failed in the dozens of times, in 16 years finally succeeded in creating China's first large independent four-foot walking sculpture, which is 12 zodiac series which "afternoon horse - Lin line", I use it to solve the The holy number of four feet to walk the balance of technical problems.
>At the end of last year and Sina micro comic co-operation of the first large-scale humanoid mech "Tigers", it is 6.5 meters high. I am trying to solve the problem of large armor operation and cockpit interaction on this work.

Now back to 2.
>The next step is to upgrade the Great Sage, and make a new zombie armor at the same time. I will go to complete the story of the holy number and twelve armor as a whole, to do literature, comic creation, until the film and television, and continue to produce a new Lunar New Year machine, so my side has been slowly gathered in the relevant areas The most outstanding friends, and feel that this matter is very meaningful, we do it together, it will be my second half of things, and even the meaning of my life.
>4.MegaBots MKII has a paintball gun, then " Story number " have any special skills?

Japan: got some stability but doubt those legs taking any extra pressure or resit outside exertion on it so high chance of leg failure

China: monkey is a load of pretty bullshit, its rear legs are welded down so it doesn't tip over like a drunk fag through the door. its all looks

Korea: most like a robot i want to see from every country in this match, walkin, waving gundam jizz fest. sadly as a walker it will fall easily i dont see much in the way of stabilizers (see James Bruton Robot X series on youtube vid 5) so absorbing anything wont happen and top heavy means over she goes

these matches are going to play out like the korean robot matches, everyone falls from the slightest hit and anti-climactic

I would love to see rules brought it to help increase how advance companies/groups make these guys

Everyone besides best korea has gone for the looks good its fine, so bland movement and all for show. Korea although aplying some good robotics, unless everyone usues the same frame as them will get wiped first and easily

well shit..... yeah but understand im trying to point out they are advancing and trying to do what is difficult instead of slapping guns on a excavator, thats not innovation. and if we want mechs we need innovation and advancing tech

sorry about spelling was on phone during work, so kinda rushed it all, so my explaining is to shit

DARPA was great to watch! and i agree, a course where you could interfere with the other robot is a great way to have a more competative atmosphere and will help the scientist/engineers think outside the box

im talking about these matches if anyone interested

okay let's get real here, how the FUCK is anything going to beat the Mark III?

>kuratas
plastic toy with a little cuck engine for its courtesy-scooter wheels. Its company requests melee even though it has short dinosaur arms and no melee weapons (???). It's a glorified toy for rich VOTOMS fans and prioritizes shit like laser eye scanning and touch screen HUD instead of going for anything that will win it a battle. It needs a serious overhaul with better parts if it's going to even stand a chance. It's like a shitty commuter vehicle as-is, and we've seen what the Mark III can do to those.

>Monkey king
Again, it's a metal sculpture made to look good. It can't even walk yet, but if it could, whatever slow, trembling walk cycle it trudges through would have the pilot shitting himself in fear as the MK III grabs it and rends it apart. Since there's no rule about walking vs rolling, the MKIII's legs are for maneuverability only and its actually movement is powered by some ten trillion horsepower tank engine. Tell me again how it's "too slow". The Monkey King couldn't even do melee combat because it needs all four limbs to walk. 14 million $ down the fucking drain.

>Dawei
Think MKIII vs MKII and that's more or less what's going on here. Dawei is slow and weak and might be better off fighting Kuratas, honestly. It doesn't have any melee AFAIK and the ranged weaponry it has is ludicrous and unsafe. Its team has the spirit but not the money.

>Method One
That Gook Mirae company could foreseeably produce some kind of half-baked fighting arm-moving rig if it ever wants to publicize itself in this battle. But until the 'robot league' really gets off the ground, don't kid yourselves about Korea joining in. The Method is a 200 million $ showpiece with no practical applications and it would literally be punched over and smashed ten seconds in by the MK III.

Meanwhile the MKIII is the biggest, fastest, heaviest fucker that can crush a sedan and saw thru metal.
>>
>>15526576
Suidobashi could've improved the Kuratas in performance and design this entire time these past 2 years and they're already more experienced than the Megabots team so it's not impossible to think that way
