I was expecting this cast of characters to whom all names I don't know an faces I'm unfamiliar with because I have the "Gao Gai Gar series" on my backlog /m/ has informed me enough through it's praise, I know I'm going to love watching it. Then at 0:41 bam!

The series are connected in that share a same universe but are largely unrelated in terms of narrative
if you do some digging though you'll see that some of the cast of Betterman are relatives to the cast of GGG and there's some tech overlap.
You don't need to read or watch anything to understand either as they stand on their own it mostly just amounts to fluff like oh this attack in GGG was created by research done in BM.
