Have you considered watching GaoGaiGar, or Brave in general? It's what TTGL is mixed with in your art. It's exactly what you're looking for.

Digimon Xros also matches it since it has a lot of send ups to Brave/GGG. There is also Dancouga and other gattai series.

if you mean "getting new upgrades randomly from other robots"
well, you could say IBO did it for a while before barbatos got upgraded by the mafia guys(it stole grazes' shoulders and schwalbe grazes' hooks)
and there are many others that do that sort of thing

but getter definitely doesn't do that sort of stuff, getter robos were always a complete set that didn't recieve many upgrades, unless changing the robot entirely
