I can understand where this guy is coming from. You never see Mobile suits side stepping like they are on crack in the show, so it never made sense to me for them to do it in games. Movement of the gundams are just as iconic as are their looks. I think the closest game that matched the spirit of fighting in the TV show was Gundam: Climax UC. That game had the right balance of dodging, movement, and firepower. Plus it has the best soundtrack of all the games.

I'm curious, I'm looking through the SDGO wiki (because I'm sad) and I'm not getting what some of the mechanics mean. I played WAY back in the day using some random Korean person's social security number but I stopped a long time ago as well because it took so long to put in good units (back then I was using Kampfer).

What does "Shield" mean? Does it mean a unit that has a shield? What does that actually do? There are a lot of units that have a shield in their model but it says Shield: No, and vice versa...

People didn't fall for that Bandai money grubbing shit, and SDNE shutdown due to "lack of player population" as Bandai put it. Omegasword gave us some "usable" stuff but in the long run it's garbage. As far as I can tell he probably ripped it from a running gaming using some sort of program that intercepts directx calls the game makes and used it to retrieve mesh data from the hangar or something.

I remember that the game was fun, but took alot of grinding to accomplish anything. I used the Mk-II alot until I could build A-rank suits like Zeta, Zeong, Shining. Even then though, I seemed to do better with the Mk-II, because you'd get 3 lives with it instead of 2, because it was B-rank.

Also the Den'an Gei wasn't an AWACS unit, which I thought was the whole idea. The UC Eye-Zack isn't amazing but being able to sit back, spam guns and debuffs while handing out radar to everyone was nice. And even though Fortress was nerfed, in an ABC room an A or B rank might think twice about blowing an SP to kill it, even in NA.

I don't play this game, but I see this on the front page of /m/ all the time. I'm surprised a game that has been cancelled has this level of support. To those working on the revival project, have you thought about harnessing this energy? Rather than letting them bicker in threads like this, surely you can use this weaponized autism to your benefit.

Either for raising funds for a private server, or seeing if people have programming experience to rebuild the server files from scratch. There were a few thousand easily that played this game correct? Surely someone knows someone who may know where a good copy of the server files are. Or just brute force it with enough people doing menial tasks.

Anyway, like I said, I don't play this game, but it amazing to watch this game's community still be alive after all this time. Perhaps find a way to use this support to your advantage.

I quit NA a month or two before it died, had some pretty good units, some of the most notable ones were strike freedom meteor, gadelaza and destroy gundam, the meteor was a constant salt mine, the gadelaza was in neon blue dildo colors, and the destroy was just good in general, and that SS destroy I never built with all the required units sitting in my hanger.

If I could launch the game somehow I could probably remember some of the maneuvers, too, trying things out in the practice mode, destroying tiles, and that solo mission where you fight devil gundam, mostly basic shit like that, good times.

Also these sorts of games are run by the game publishers. They eat the costs. The only thing Bandai has to do is sit back and make money. There is no "I doubt they were making a profit" because the risk lies on the publishers and the game studio, yet the decision came from Bandai in a sudden turn of events when Softmax was still developing the game.

its not that OGP closed it down because it was losing money its because they had to like all the other servers.

KR was kind of on a decline though, which was somewhat evident by the decreasing number of rooms even during previously peak hours. I suppose that could be attributed to very few positive shakeups in gameplay and the way Softmax was handling development of the game a year prior to the shutdown of the game felt extremely questionable. SDGNE was just another one of those "we got a dude on the old dev team guys" "oh shit, he has no idea what made the game enjoyable" moments.
