The difference between TTGL and 00 is that TTGL hasn't really gotten anything like it to replace it in the minds of casuals since it came out (though you and I know better). On the other hand, there have been a plethora of Gundam series since 00 and the casuals are naturally gonna latch onto the newest one, most of them not caring enough to go back to any previous ones.
