I don't think we've heard of any sales figures for the new games, but it's been a small franchise for a while now.

That aside, you must be seriously braindead to think otaku pandering would cause a property to fail in JAPAN when you have games like Neptunia, DoA, and Senran Kagura doing fine, even thriving considering they have little exposure outside of Japan now. I mean a fucking line of erotic demon girl statues just got a TV anime show.

No, this game did flop extremely hard. The people who want moe anime girls/idols thought it focused too much on the Medabots, and what's left of the small Medabots fanbase thought it focused too much on the girls. It tried to please everyone and it pleased no-one.

It also went all in on the fanservice with stuff like stripping the clothes of the girls when the Medabot is damaged for some reason. Something like that basically makes the game otaku-only and the otaku clearly didn't jump on board.
