So for the sake of making things fit better for a SRW game they changed things up. SRW tends to do that.

They introduced Sala earlier so you'd face her more than once, and had Ange unlock the alternate modes before the energy blasters because that fits the attack progression better. Had Sala join right away after befriending Ange and gave Tusk his unit much earlier so they wouldn't be joining at the end of the game, and also put off Salia and co's betrayal longer for roster reasons.

They also cut out the parts where you'd lose Ange for stages at a time, like Ange and Tusk aren't int he other world for a long time, and the whole thing of Ange not wanting to work for Jill when she gets back, since that would either deprive you of Ange or the rest of the CA characters, and stop Ange getting kidnapped by Embryo again in the finale.

I loved the first half of cross ange. The part where ange and hilda go home was undoubtedly the highlight of the series. Gave me some Mai Otome vibes. Then the attack on arzenal reminded me of the attack on nerv in end of evangelion.

And then the show crawled to a halt. I liked the lore they explored in the second half but the last 13 episodes were so goddamn slow. And the badass ange was replaced with a slightly vulnerable ange. It really lost the spark.
