FFS is pretty good, The Origin was good, the Getter-stuff is entertaining.

Then there's Battle Angel Alita, Red Eyes, Eden, the Crossbone-series, that FAG-Manga, that shoujo-series about robots travelling space and solving problems, ect.

If you're extending the definition of mecha to include other fantastic mechanical devices, you're basically drowning in, because comics basically are the prime medium to visualize stories

Mecha manga are great. Bokurano is a good example of what the manga can do well for mecha: it uses 2 page spreads and careful use of paneling to create a sense of size and scale for the robots.

Probably an issue with mecha already being a rather niche genre, and that alot of mangaka do not have experience drawing mecha. Most mangaka just focus on trying to draw humans with a unique style, cant imagine trying to add unique mecha on top of that.

The primary issue is you need either spectacular dialogue and characters to carry it
