I know music gets most of the love, but can we talk about how sound effects make mecha productions awesome? What are you favourites?
I've watched Be Invoked recently and more than the grandiose music score, a lot of the sfx sounds very unsettling (as much as in the series, think about that siren-like sound of the Ideon Sword), lots of scenes with no music and only weird sounds, feeling eerie and making the scene overwhelming to watch. In fact, a lot of older shows, with lower sound quality, have this nice feeling of oddity when you listen to it, I'm not sure about how to describe it. And I fucking love it.
