In the late 90s, early 00's, Toei figured out that while the number one viewer group for KR was the target 5-10 year old boys. But the number two demographic was the 25-35 year old young mothers who watch with their sons. So they started using more handsome actors, added more drama elements, and the shows and toy sales were a huge success.

RX is good, but Black's design is far superior: helmet, main color, trim colors and the most aesthetic kingstone of the entire franchise: classy as fuck and don't look like a toy. Only nice detail in RX is the collar's armor, resembling a mantis' nape. Rest is just regular.

Kouta and Emu's actors are ripped, but are dressed up as fuckboys for the purpose of the show. Think they may have done that with Ryotaro's actor in Den-O too.

Shinnosuke's probably about as close as you'll get to a "manly" main rider in recent shows.
