へっぽこ主人公支援や援護ならガンキャンノンの方が使いやすい、部隊を任された時ジムやガンダムを乗った他のプレイヤーに隊長として指示や援護する立場で後方からの状況把握、味方を援護するスナイプ、危険な味方機の救助の為の丈夫な装甲、撤退時に敵を倒せなくても時間を稼げる火力、隊長機としては使いやすかった

You end up becoming a pretty ruthless pilot if you want to survive melee fighting in a Guncannon. Even the Zaku I and Zudah had Heat Hawks for when things got up close and personal. But not Guncannons; if you want to survive when a Gouf's Heat Sword was heading straight for your cockpit, you learn to make your suit MOVE. You take advantage of AMBAC and your suit's mass to beat your enemies -- literally and figuratively.

Do you think Kai shoved Zakus off cliffs just because he was being mean? No, he did it because it was a golden opportunity to take out an enemy without using up any of the Guncannon's limited ammo. And when you're fighting suits superior in mobility to yours, that are equipped with comparable ranged weapons and better close-combat weapons compared to you? You draw on every moment of your piloting career to show 'em how it's done.

Because although the brass or the factory never thought to give you a close combat weapon, you can't just keep your distance. No Dom pilot is just going to let you shell them from range. So you work with what you've got, and then you go back up the rest of your squad. Because watching a couple of 240mms smash a couple of Gelgoogs, followed up with a beams turning a Musai into swiss cheese, is one hell of a morale booster.
