Alright, I just beat MGS3 (that was some good shit too). Watched some Port Ops stuff because I heard Null is a Chirico reference and Kojima already said he was a fan of it once.
So when does Peace Walker get good? My autism is gonna force me through it to hear all the tapes I guess. I'd ask /v/ but they don't play games, they just watch Twitch all day now because they're Brave New World level laziness IRL.
And yes I'm doing chronological order. Suck it. I wanna get to know Big Boss as a person before I kill him in two games in a row.

Peace Walker is pretty shit, honestly. I preferred Portable Ops. The battles with the AI Weapons are pretty much the only redeeming quality outside of co-op.

It was still pretty neat, though. You can unlock customization that lets you splice guns together, and there was a bug that let you use parts from different weapon types so you could have drum magazine rocket launchers with underbarrel shotguns.

Pic very much related, MGS 3 is literally designed around the idea that you played the first two MGS games.

As for both portable games neither of them are good. Portable Ops isn't quite as grindy but it's not what I'd call good. The problem with the two PSP games is they don't tell to anything you need to know, if anything they hurt Big Boss's character. Watching him repeatedly be played for a fool by a 12 year old girl really just conveys him as a moron and a pedophile.

Of course I didn't, I didn't play it. The story sounded like absolute garbage and I have no reason to learn more about Boss's, or his impersonator's, background. I guess at least it's good they confirmed her age as legal, pretty sure they left it vague in Peace Walker, so he's just made to look like an idiot my a full grown woman rather than a little girl. That's something, I guess.

Fucking good. Nothing is worse than when shooters try to emulate real guns. I'm not here to jerk off over who modeled some slavshit peashooter perfectly or to get into internet arguments over whether all the magazine sizes and firing rates are represented accurately, I just want a few guns that demonstrably perform different roles and the best way to do that is to make the stats up out of whole cloth rather than finding the closest real-world analogues and leaving people wondering why the only pistols in this game are Swedish but 60% of the other weapons are American.
