TORKAIZER WHEN
>>15431566
If it's Korea, it wouldn't be too surprising, actually, since Brave Series was huge there.
>>15431716
Alter Ego/Ego Punch still uses the Torkaizer promotional art at events but it's been dead silent for years. Seemingly most of what they've been doing according to their Facebook is helping organize conventions and One Piece screenings.
Anyone remember ASTRO PLAN?
I saw it on tv when I was visiting a relative in China.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8tuFx847Xo
I have all episodes of a korean series called "the green chariot hamos" that I found on a site called ex.ua.
>>15432447
Yup. Barely. I wanted it to be good but I didn't even make it through the first episode. I guess there's something to be said for growing up watching anime and being able to deal with the eccentricities of how the Japansese tell stories, because I just don't get a lot of what China puts out.
>>15432447
Also, is there something I'm missing about the way they title shows and movies? It's always something like, "Great Cat City" or "God Robot". No pronouns, super high concept. Like if every movie was like Snakes on a Plane. Maybe there's nuance or wordplay that we're not getting by translating directly? But if so, how come it's so common to just see the plain versions?
>>15432511
This has ridiculously good art. Not necessarily animation, but the characters and backgrounds put IBO to shame.
>>15432511
Is it any good?
>>15430953
lemme know if this counts:

Dunno. Haven't watched it yet since I'm going through my extensive back catalog. Must have been popular though; it got a windows game.
Posting the best non-Japenese /m/ right here
>>15432500
and here i thought the miniforce was the epitome of weird concepts.
>>15432500
that's some pretty swank robot action they got going there
Kainar's worth mentioning probably
https://youtu.be/L12R43bJm_k
China does sort of a 2000s Gundamish thing
>>15432549
The Chinese seem to have a nasty habit of just throwing shit at the viewers without ever explaining anything, which if you consider that they also tend to make massive amounts of episodes results in something very hard to understand if you're not raised with it.
>>15432580
The way their writing system works means they don't get to create words so they have to give everything a meaningful name.
>>15430953
Here's some Chinese /m/ that I've come across in my internet travels.
Robo Revolution
https://youtu.be/jfs0VCBVZPo
RoboValor
https://youtu.be/Vz-GSO37XaY
Robo Saviors
https://youtu.be/5nmS7DaUtMk
RevEvolution Ultra Beast Force

Happy Friends/Happy Hero

>Happy Friends/Happy Hero
I saw that one during a trip in China.
I also saw this one Chinese cartoon with a catchy theme song and it had this group of kids traveling around the world with the monsters of the week being corrupted animals the little girl would purify.
It had some ideas like some of the animals being able to turn into weapons.
I do recall one of them being a bat that would turn into a bow and fire energy arrows.
>>15435779
>Happy hero
Ok...
>RoboRevolution
Not bad, tho that dubstep kinda sucks.
>RoboValor
also good, and the themesong was cool.
>RoboSaviours
So, chinese piracy is at work here, trying to copy some pages of the SRWOGs book of extremely flashy fighting robot choreography?
not that is a bad thing, tho...
>Revevolution
Nice CGI and im kinda intrigued,
is there a way to watch these shows, except for revevo and happy hero as those are already on YT?
>>15435779
Robovalor has some of the worst 2D/3D animation mixing I've ever seen, it's like two different shows spliced together. Has nobody in China heard of cel shading?
>>15434668
It seems like China is all about that Rule of Cool.
>>15434780
Well, I mean, you can combine existing concepts to create a new word. That's how English works, it's just a little more... atomizable? I can't remember the word, but basically you can cut English words into smaller parts. That said, you could ostensibly create a new character by combining radicals in a new way, or even create a new radical by simplifying an existing character.

I don't know what this is called in English, but that mech design (pic related) was clearly ripped from Zyuranger/MMPR

I never knew I wanted this.

>I don't know what this is called in English, but that mech design (pic related) was clearly ripped from Zyuranger/MMPR
The entire cartoon appears to be a straight-up Power Rangers clone.
>>15432702
Absolutly perfect.
10/10.
>>15438918
I wonder how envious Disney would have been of them if they heard of it, since they wanted to try and do a PR cartoon before they stopped bothering with the license.
>>15437944
This thing is not only available at youtube fully, it is also ENGLISH DUBBED!
Just look for 'miniforce english dub'
