Assuming you're talking about the attack on Heaven's Base, with the Archangel/SF/IJ/Akatsuki replacing Minerva/Destiny/etc:
Kira would've disabled a lot of grunt mobile suits, but I don't think he could do much against the Destroys (you need melee for those, and he rarely initiates melee in either Freedom). However, Athrun is pretty baller at melee, so he would be the one taking them down. Mwu can cover them with his beam reflecting BS, but neither he nor Kira can use DRAGOONs, so Athrun is doing most of the work in this scenario.

I happen to like SEED. Probably one of my fave Gundam shows. The art is garish, and it can get WAY TOO soap opera-y; BUT it's one of the handful of Gundam shows that don't have fucking retarded dialogue, and the cast is at least well-used enough that the finale is satisfying for the most part. As far as time-wasters go, it's a pretty good time-waster.

The recycled animation is too much, though.

SEED is actually pretty good until the halfway point.

SEED Destiny is the one that is awful and infuriating to watch. Get it right.

It's not so much that Kira should have been a master negotiator and talk Rau out of what must have been years of planning and ambition to bring humanity to the brink of self-annihilation, but at the very least Kira could have said something better? Seed and Destiny are awesome. Seed was great from start to finish and while Destiny floundered a lot, I still love it overall. Shinn is my favourite protagonist in the series precisely because he loses it and becomes a fallen hero. Rau is my favourite antagonist in the series. And Durandal is just fucking great. Mu La Flaga is best bro in Gundam and Murrue and him are so great together. Athrun is pretty great. Kira is pretty good in Seed though I found his deal annoying in Destiny. Luna is cute but underused. Lacus is also pretty good, considering she aknowledges the valid argument that they could be in the wrong too (The choices we're making may be one of evil as well. For we call for peace, but with weapons in our hands. Nevertheless allow us to break this chain of endless conflict. Give us strength.)
Even Flay is great because she's so fucked up. The dub is also pretty good. The soundtrack is god tier. Freedom, Saviour, Impulse, Infinite Justice and Destiny are some of the best mobile suits in the series.

I can't help it. I love both Seed and Destiny.
