Basically, back when the current /m/-tan was designed, most of the activity went into that. Then it was suggested he have a rival, which is where /m/azinguy came from (because there was a mazinger shitposter that pitched a bitchfit and that's why there's the mazinger horns).

/m/a'AM was last handful of anons (and mainly just one) trying to make us a girl tan for the sake of having a girl tan. There were some competing ideas, /m/iss was one that someone actually drew, /m/a'AM just had a bunch of references and a shitty pic for a while until a kind drawfag took pity and cleaned it up.

But it's still a hodgepodge of Lab Rats, Sucker Punch, and Power Rangers meant to be the west's stealing/remaking of pure honolable nippon content.
