Only the ending was glorious, everything else was meh honestly from what I remember. I checked out pretty early on before too many recurring characters showed up, all I really remember was being bored for a whole episode that he tries to learn that you don't have to counter steer an FZero racer in order to drift.

The too many recurring characters problem comes from the nature of F-Zero itself. By the time GP Legend/Climax came out, the roster was over 30 racers, each with their own backstories. If it was -just- about Falcon and/or Rick/Ryu, it probably would have gone better.

Now that I think about it, I don't remember the GP Legend game being all that great either. Maybe GX spoiled me, but going back to "old school" F-Zero on a portable system felt like a huge step down.

Fast Racing Neo/Fast RMX is the best we're probably going to get for a long time. Even then it's closer to Wipeout than F-Zero.

i have the same gripes about everyone else about the f-zero anime, but if the new one was better, absolutely. high stakes racing / death racing are good premises for shows
