To me it's like comparing apples to oranges. Sure they have similar elements that you can compare, but on the whole they're two very different stories.

I vastly prefer 0079 because I think it is a much more solid character drama, but I respect Zeta's larger expansion of the UC. That, and it has great production value in some ways (beautiful OST, animation is still light years better than 0079).

When are they going to do a full remake of 0079? Its a central piece of the anime landscape, but the older it gets the harder it will be for people to get into Gundam in general.

I don't know why some people think "if it has old animation it must be bad". Some really good old stuff has dated animation and it's still easily watchable.

That's how I feel about it, but as a business model Sunrise would be smart to try and give newer viewers a better entry point to the franchise.

This isn't about adult men in their 20s, this is about 14 year olds. There's a reason Disney is putting so much emphasis on their Star Wars right now, it's a much better hook for kids than A New Hope.
