Is Dino Charge any good down the line? I liked Kyoryuger, I watched some of Dino Charge and was glad that there was much less Samurai/Megaforce cringe (probably thanks to Chip) and it was watchable, but kinda dropped it soon after the rich guy appeared as it was mostly the same as Kyoryuger with a sillier villain.

RPM is indeed very reminiscent of In Space and Lost Galaxy, and I don't think it's bad as those are generally considered to be among the best PR seasons.

The Eddie run of RPM had a couple of issues like focusing too much on "ow the edge" Dillon and indeed borrowing the whole sister thing, but it went full circle when Chip (yep, Turbo to Time Force head writer) replaced him as the showrunner and pretty much completely reused his own In Space plotline. Still, both parts of the show were great, Eddie made a solid and fresh setting but wasn't used to the PR way of matching the plot to the shoestring budget and Chip managed to tie it up decently as he has a lot of experience saving PR seasons from production hell.

That said, there are a lot of rumors considering Eddie's departure and plans for the season, as some say overuse of budget was Disney spreading fake rumors, some say Eddie wanted to kill off Dillon as the final villain of the series, etc, etc. Either way, the second half of RPM we could've gotten might have been a very different beast, but Disney and the TV channels apparently hated the fact that it was not a kiddy edutainment show the brand is supposed to represent.

Venjix was successful, but he's probably one of the blandest main villains. The only scene with him that stood out was him meeting K and showing appreciation to her like a mother. It's all covered in rumors so it's hard to say what actually happened, I bet it was a combination of factors. It's indeed very easy to see how Eddie could go overbudget and I bet that happened, but there's also the fact that Disney's brand image didn't align with PR well in the first place (too violent for a kid Disney show, and RPM made it worse) and they may have had issues with TV networks, even dropped the show from their own channel. So I suppose they wanted to get done with it ASAP and not risk ending it in a way that parents will complain about.

I always liked the Blue Ranger in Wild Force as a kid because he was a fucking shark. Thought that was new. Granted I didn't know Sentai existed, but it was still cool at the time.

I never hated Wild Force, and I thought it was kinda underrated. Loved it as a kid. But after the steam, I can sorta see why a lot of people didn't like it.

Only drawback was the more than occasional accent slip, but I do think that's something that went totally unnoticed/unappreciated back in the day in the fandom when Disney era was in full effect. That would be fucking awesome and would be a really great twist. Of course given the size of the team not ALL of them could be Psycho Rangers. What I would do is have some of them be Psychos in disguise and others not Psychos and unaware that some of their fellow team members are Psycho Rangers, with the reveal happening either halfway (if the show is still going to be airing on Nick then the reveal would be a good way to end the first "season") or towards the end of the series. I'm thinking there could also be an episode or arc taking place before the reveal in which the team "fights" the Psycho Rangers or at least the ones that aren't secretly on the Power Rangers team. There would of course be some foreshadowing in said episode/arc, the Red Psycho Ranger being absent or being present but him and the Red Ranger would never be present at the same time and place.

Now here's what I would do for the finale. The Psycho Rangers that were in disguise would shed said disguises after their true identities were revealed, either by themselves or other parties. They would then reform with the rest of the Psycho Rangers. Then they would be a battle: Psycho Rangers vs the remaining Kyurangers as well as the Space Rangers, who have returned to fight their evil counterparts once more.

Of course Saban would never go for any of this. It would be way too high-concept. May also be too expensive too. For example Saban would probably not willing to pay all of the In Space Ranger actors to come back, when they haven't even been willing to pay for a single proper team-up in any of the Neo-Saban seasons. Still it's a pretty cool idea to think about or at least I think it is.

I watched the Power Rangers movie a couple days ago, and did anyone else think the film had a lot of weird sex references? Like Jason jacking off a bull, Rita molesting Trini in her bed, and the subplot about Kimberly posting revenge porn? I wasn't offended, and I should be used to it thanks to Transformers, but it seemed weird that a movie meant to shill toys to kids had that.

And because Power Rangers was always previously so conservative about this that characters weren't even allowed to kiss on-screen.

But it gets really slow at the beginning. Its really starts to get good once the Magna Defender enters in. Then it really picks up when Trakeena starts getting her own storyline with Vilamax and Deviot. Then it becomes one of the better story focused seasons of PR.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall so many people clamoring Natsu to never fight a person who can specifically do only fire based attacks because he can consume fire.
Last I checked, Ace is made out of fire because that's how Logia Devil Fruits work (I haven't read One Piece in years).

It was just another monster in the Sentai.

The MMPR episode had that be a good alien being hunted down by Zedd. It even have trouble speaking english. But the rangers made a fake doll version of him to trick Zedd and Goldar. The good alien escapes, but Zedd makes the doll into a monster.

After seeing the movie tonight I don't dislike the suits as much as I did before. They looked better in action in the film than they did in stills and trailers. Still think they need some tweaking though. Yellow's helmet basically just looked like Pink's except without the pterodactyl point. So I'd want them to change Yellow's helmet a bit so it looks more distinct. Maybe put in the fangs like the original helmet had and maybe make it a bit more squarish.

As for the movie itself, it was pretty good. I was smiling a lot during it. Would have been nice to see more of them actually being Power Rangers though. At the same time though I have to admit it was kind of nice to see a superhero film put a large amount of focus on character development. And designs aside the action parts of the films were good, fun, and well-shot.

Might as well throw in my autism ideas for a better Super Megaforce.

The Gokaigers are a different team entirely. They drop in during the invasion looking for treasure, steal the keys from Gosei, do their debut battle, leave to get the find the full powers of the keys. Maybe before Basco does.

They'll be the main focus, but the Megaforce Rangers with still be there hunting down Vrak in their episodes. The Gokaiger episodes focus on tributes to past seasons. Both deal with the fleet.

Maybe do stuff with the non PR teams, IE make Goranger Zordon's first team, Dairanger being the original Quasar Saber wielders, etc.

After they deal with their big bads, the final part of the season is a mash-up of the Gokaiger vs. Goseiger movie and Legendary battle footage. Ending in All Megazords.

The thing is that if they tributed every season in 20 episodes the rangers themselves wouldnt get much development, if any. Those ideas are fine though. My idea would be like, hackers who tapped into the morphing grid and pirate the older ranger powers because of a corrupted authority figure that the other Power Rangers can't see. Something like a corrupted SPD commander or Alphabet Soup.

I'm not intending to start a region war, but does sentai have any villains who were as magnificent?

I don't mean in terms of being as successful or scary (Bias from Liveman was even more twisted to his generals and nearly won, after all), but I mean in terms of fuckin' style. Even in his first forty episodes, Zedd had a sense of humor and flair that made it hard not to see him as the best thing on the show.

Any Yutaka Hirose villain. Even when he's wearing a stupid bird suit, he can always take over the show with his screen presence. If only he showed up again for a cameo.

Mazenda from Liveman too. Most other Sentai villainesses as the time range from average to a model who can barely read their lines, but she had that unique hint of charisma, with that baroness-feel to her acting. Like Hirose, it's a shame her actress hasn't shown up since Dekaranger.

Anyone else here loving the bom power ranger comics? I know a lot of people are tired of Tommy getting most of the focus so far. But I just love how differant it is from the tv show, and all the stuff they can do without having to work about things like budgets for special effects or hiring actors. Really digging the alternate dimension story they have going on right now. It makes me want to write power ranger comics someday. Of course I'm no where near professional comic book writer levels yet. And after watching several power ranger episodes, most of my ideas for writing stories feel generic or have been done tons of times already. Guess I'll enjoy the comics for now and keep practicing in the hopes of becoming a better comic book writer.

This is a homebrew 5e Fighter subclass. Looks pretty good. My only gripe is the Megazord mechanic is useless if you're the only one in the group, so unless you've more than one in the party or the DM is throwing you a bone, don't bother with the higher levels. I'd even knock Megazord down to 15th level.
For my part, I'd go for a Ranger duo, like a white/black, or gold/silver, or (personal favorite) the Crimson/Navy Thunder Rangers.

I'm fearing that Higgins might be rushing it (to be frank, he was never really a popular writer to begin with) and I'm hoping they won't go to White Ranger after the Drakkon arc since they haven't done Mega Dragonzord or Ultrazord yet.
Granted, even though it may be somewhat fanficy with the Drakkon arc, it still feels like the character development is natural and I appreciate how it can go beyond what the show was limited to do and both Drakkon's and the Sentries' designs are actually pretty cool.
That said, I think he keeps track with Rangerboard to see their thoughts on it (he visited the site years before he wrote the comic just so he can find a ranger helmet) and he's even interviewed in a fansite's podcast about it from time to time to discuss an issue.

I'm guessing/hoping that him playing with future seasons' toys in Drakkon's universe is just him getting it out of his system/using them for easter eggs and after the arc is over, he'll stick to the show's progression, especally considering that the comic is trying to stick to the most popular/iconic season stuff because casuals generally prefer Green Tommy and Dinozords to White Tommy and Thunder or Ninjazords.

There's an interview with the editors about how they'll handle zord changes and future seasons.

What would anons think of, hypothetically, a Netflix universe, separated from the films, or any of the TV series'? Kind of similar to the Netflix stuff Marvel is doing?

Obviously would probably never happen, but purely as a hypothetical? The idea is that multiple shows would run at the same time, meaning multiple Ranger teams in this universe are active at the same time, with some fun crossovers here and there for funs.

I don't think Power Ranger should have that much of an edge. Sure Galaxy and RPM were serious, but they were still fun.

I'm glad they are going to take there time and not rush into giving everyone new zords and powers. What would be cool is if they do eventually get new zords, maybe they can keep the old ones around. Like they get repaired and the rangers can use both dinozords and thunderzords for instance. Since modern power ranger shows have the rangers using multiple megzaords anyway, i think this would be a good idea. If they have to face a really powerful enemy having an extra robot to call on would be very helpful.
