I don't know, it's just a railgun. A pretty good railgun, but a railgun all the same. Between Phase Shift armor and beam shields, the Strike Freedom could probably survive a shot from it.

Physics still have to be applied. PS Armor is bullet and missile proof, but a highly accelerated rod with a lot of mass? The reaction energy is going to go somewhere during the collision, and even if the PS armor tanks it all the shock is going to hit the pilot like a truck.

Higher mass solids can deal damage. Even if the surface isn't pierced, inertial effects will cause all kinds of destruction to internal mechanisms and throw the pilot around.

Well animated, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be able to penetrate through the beam spam like that. The javelin would ether be vaporized, or both parties would be annihilated.
If it was fired from outside of orbit when Kira was unaware though, it could probably one hit Strike Freedom.
>>
>>15406867
Has that ever happened in SEED? I remember characters in Wing nothing that internal portions of the Gundams had been damaged after combat, but not in SEED.

How would Phase Shift Armor fare against blunt weapons?

Hard to say.

I suspect that beam weapons are repelled from NL armor because an ahab reactor gives it I-field like properties and if this is true then a VSBR isn't getting through. However, this is mostly guesswork.

no turning tables here. Rustal doesn't have Kira's plot armor, Inaho's eye, and POSSIBILITY.
>>
>>15407488

Supercharged is the important word there. Strike Freedom is smaller and has a smaller reactor powering it. Strike Freedom's reactor would take a lot less damage to overpower it's ability to feed the phase shift armor and let an attack penetrate. It's reactor can feed power indefinitely at a given rate, but that rate itself is finite.

>>15404925

>>Dainslaif fires
>>Doesn't pierce GN field

exia's physical swords were originally meant as a gn field countermeasure, so unless it's because of e-carbon or whatever they're made, dáinsleif should by all means pierce gn fields
>>
>>15408969
The GN sword is covered in gn particles which make it sharp on a molecular level or whatever.
>>
>>15404925

Dainsleifs were not a mistake. This shit is just beautiful.
>>
>>15409257
the gn sword blade infused (?) with gn particles wasn't until mid/end s2 with the gn sword 3. exia's gn blades didn't use gn particles at all and still were meant to fight gn fields.

lockon said on that flashback with setsuna after he was chosen as a meister, about how exia being the seven swords gundam and having physical gn swords was veda's answer to the possibility that at some point the gundams were to fight each other and needed gn field countermeasures
>>
>>15410106
If you're talking about how the newer swords have a green blade, even the original GN sword's blade was coated in GN particles. The newer swords were simply more advanced.
From the manual:
>It works by applying GN Particles over the solid sword which greatly increases the sharpness and cutting power
>>
>>15410106
Also the fact that AD Gundams ALWAYS have a thin layer of GN particles covering them at all times, should clue you in to the functionality of the GN blade.

The E-carbon, while advanced and quite durable, is made impenetrable by the coating of GN particles.
This is even in S1. It's what allowed Dynames and Kyrios to survive the 15 hours barrage despite not having a GN Field like Virtue.
>>
>>15410106
No, you've gotten it wrong. The GN swords/blades were always infused with GN particles because it's supposed to make them sharper. There's no point in calling it a GN sword if it doesn't utilize GN particles in some way. In an early episode of S1, Setsuna exploits this by feeding more particles into the Exia's GN sword to start cutting through Ali's Enact's guard when they were both pushing their weapons against each other. The GN condenser starts glowing and then the blade becomes sharper.

The newer GN sword/blade III with green edge is when they started making the blade out of the same material as the GN condensers so that it's even sharper. Before that, the blade material was just conventional metal like e-carbon infused with GN particles.

Whether the weapon is coated or infused with GN particles doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being able to breach GN fields. If there's enough force behind a physical object, it can push through the GN field. In one of the final battles of 00S1, Ali was able to use his fangs to penetrate the Virtue's GN field. In 00S2, Tieria was able to kill Bring by pushing the Seraphim Gundam's hands through Bring's GN field and then reverting the hands into the GN beam cannons.
>>
>>15410123
>It's what allowed Dynames and Kyrios to survive the 15 hours barrage despite not having a GN Field like Virtue

No, Kyrios survived the 15 hour long barrage using a GN field as well. It's just not his style to ever use it in battle.

Dynames doesn't have a full on GN field, but it had the armor cloak on and didn't have to endure a lot of artillery because it was hiding in a trench. It was attacked by Overflags and surrounded but then rescued by one of the Thrones.

>>15410123
They're not coated in GN particles, the e-carbon armor is strengthened by being internally infused by GN particles or even a GN field. It's called GN composite armor.

It was a technology tested by the previous 2nd generation CB Gundams, and is standard for all later GN powered MS, including grunts.

>>
>>15410181
The choreography and animation is still great, but I actually just edited out the cuts to the cockpit in the middle. Here's the original version, excuse the shitty quality.

https://youtu.be/ZHswuJ7iTHk?t=197

I do it to leave more room in the 3MB webm for the action, and there usually isn't any point to showing characters talking (not for my purposes anyway).

>>
>>15411233
Yeah, but ZAFT will run out of Freedom derivatives for Lacus to steal before the Dainsleifs run out of ammo.
Hell, they'll probably run out of names, let alone actual mobile suits.
>>
>>15410120
If all they're doing is increasing the sharpness and durability though and not doing some fancy sciencey field nullification effect then that doesn't preclude the Deinsleif from piercing a GN field. If the GN particles are just enhancing the physical properties of the sword then the Deinsleif ammunition could in theory be hard enough and sharp enough to deal damage too.

Besides, the sheer amount of force from a weapon like the Deinsleif would hit so hard that even without damaging the armor the raw momentum would cause the Gundam to be moved and slam into something with such speed that the pilot has a high chance of being turned into mulch inside his cockpit. Just because your armor is tough you're not immune to physics...generally.
>>
>>15412774

You got it wrong, he'll just revive once into his new MS and no Dainsleif rounds will ever hit him again.
>>
>>15404937
>>15404925
>those smilies
Likely a forum.
>>
>>15410106
It was always there you massive retard. The Exia's physical blades are all e-carbon metals atomically sharpened by treatment with GN particle infusion which makes the material both stronger, more durable, and impossibly lighter because GN particles don't give a fuck about physics.
>>
>>15404925
Nope
>>
>>15414785
00R can take sustained GN Particle beam fire and a subsequent point blank explosion, and come out unscathed.
CB tech is the fucking shit yo.
