Cape Canaveral was converted into a war museum and the XB-70 was just laying around there so he decided to take it.

or someone just had a boner for it and wanted it in the show really bad.

>Cape Canaveral was converted into a war museum and the XB-70 was just laying around there so he decided to take it.
But that's wrong, the one remaining Valkyrie is at the Air Force Museum in Dayton OH.
>>
>>15396909
Plausible enough, I guess. As far as I know, there's only one intact XB-70 left, and it's a museum piece at Wright-Patterson. Cape Canaveral would be a good place for an aerospace museum in the future.

I'm more curious about how he could possibly refurbish it. It's a Cold War prototype, so no spare parts for it exist, and it would be next to impossible to manufacture new ones.
>>
>>15396921
Maybe it was moved between now and 0087?

Wait, what's that regular F-15 doing there?
Did someone went there for an autograph but didn't have a VF toy in handy (somehow)?

It looks so much like a regular MS without the silly turrets and wheels and stuff hanging around.

Not to mention the air-frame would have to be at least 100 years old by the time Hayato got to it.
>>
>>15399861
Come to think about it, it's more plausible that someone just built an airwothy Valkyrie replica from scratch with future technology, hardwork and guts.
>>
>>15399867
Agreed. Any WW1 fighter you see flying today is not an original. There's even a market for for WW2 replica right now as well, there were some pseudo Me-262's made a few years back and I hear someone somewhere is making replica Fw-190's as well..

For anyone that wants to know, the plane that crashed into the Valkyrie was a F-104 Starfighter. Which is known for a difficult plane to handle and for a high crash/casualty rate. It started the nickname "lawn dart"

But recently developed an adaptor system.

Plus there is a rivalry between F-18 and F-16 where they are usually setup against each other in mock battles.

If I'm not mistaken he did a lot of work on the early Diaclone toys, particularly I believe he designed the original Optimus Prime.

I'd be more interested in where they got the boron-infused zip fuel for it.
>All zip fuels have a number of disadvantages. For one, the fuel is toxic, as is its exhaust. This was of little concern in flight, but a major concern for ground crews servicing the aircraft. The fuels burn to create solids that are both sticky and corrosive. In particular, boron oxides are chemically reactive (and thus toxic), and boron carbide is mechanically sharp. This caused serious problems for turbine blades in jet engines, where the exhaust built up on the blades and reduced their effectiveness and sometimes caused catastrophic failure of the engine. Finally, the exhaust plume is filled with particulates, like coal smoke, allowing an aircraft to be spotted visually at long range.

Also here's the original B-1A in white.

And the B-1R (yes, literally the Boner) Arsenal Lancer, which would have been refitted with F-22 engines as a interceptor:
