They don't do anything is the problem. They did one thing back in GX, which was hold off Carol for a bit before Ignite happened. Everything else could have been done by someone else. Most of their fights had a third gear doing the heavy lifting, like Chris or Hibiki. Just have Hibiki get her 1v1 with Micha and those kids could have been gone for the entire second half of GX and nobody would have noticed.

They integrate the dolls into the gears. When the gears aren't activated, all the dolls can do is be a talking pendant.
When activated, the dolls get their own body and they act as a phonic gain amplifier with their dancing.

A ton of things. The plot literally becomes that they have to make a baby smile or 4 worlds will be thrown into disarray again. The characters start off interesting then turn to absolute shit. It brings back 5 characters from older Yugioh series but only treats the ones from the show the director previously did well.

It would be like a SRW being wrote by Fukuda who has the Seed cast treated like Gods by everyone while the characters from other Gundam series worship the ground they walk on. Imagine a magical girl crossover game written by Sailor Moon's author. The Gear characters are there but all they do is job, act OOC and fellate the Sailor Moon characters. The Gears can be made villains or whatever but they aren't competent and have to always lose and be wrong about everything.

The main character in Arc-V solves a dimensional war, the occupation of a city and class warfare with sparkles and telling everyone that fighting is wrong and to smile.
