Hayate best and cutest.

And BDs when of the original series? I know they are out but it doesn't seem like anyone can be arsed to sub them but I guess the movie has replaced both BD versions of Seasons one and two.

>>15366148
For the original series and As, rips from japanese DVDs look better IMHO. The BDs are too filtered, bad looking.
>>
>>15366198

So I'm best just sticking with Triad's subs?
>>
Why is Nanoha using Force Equipment already?
>>
>>15366208
They're going full /m/
>>
>>15366204
No, that's decades long AVI with shit quality.
Get RG-AF if you want DVDrips. Subs aren't super-polished but it's OK.

If I had infinite time, I would love to rip S1-S3 with proper IVTC in yatta and handling all the interlaced cuts and such stuff and giving it huge bitrate, but alas, life is too short.
Too bad they weren't able to make a BD without fishy filtering.
>>
>>15366208
Well, 1 interpretation is that the movies are in their own timeline so Force equipment being used earlier is definitely possible.

Another speculation would be that they let her use very experimental hardware that would only be properly introduced in Force. Testing prototypes and shit is what Combat Instructors does in Nanoha-verse anyway, them letting her do some testing of the equipment while fighting in real combat wouldn't be a stretch considering that this is fucking Midchilda we are talking about.
>>
>>15366245
But she's not a combat instructor yet, this is 3 months after As. Not that the TSAB places a high emphasis on responsibility.
>>
>>15366264
Its Midchilda. They don't exactly have very normal laws.
They probably knew that she was aiming for a combat instructor job and had the instructor team introduced to her so she would have connections and shit.

Then this happens and they just go "Sure, take this experimental hardware we're testing, it'll probably help you. Think of this as an experience of what a combat instructor do."
>>
>>15366264
It is 3 months after the timeskip from the epilogue. So in total 2-3 years after the actual events in As.
Seems there is going to be Rein II, for example.
>>
>>15366070

So, Magical Fights on Motorcycles?

>>15366119

Maybe it is better that way since it is basically disowned at this point

>Anything post StrikerS was a mistake
>>
>>15366208
>Why is Nanoha using Force Equipment already?
Nanoha movies are actual movies in universe, so it can be explained as the newest Midchilda propaganda, alongside missing Graham subplot in 2nd movie. Basically they are trying to glorify Magic Weaponry usage (which was outlawed) in Force conflict by showing how cool it is.
Or you can treat this as separate universe, where they made Fortress unit earlier.
>>
>>15367013
We'll see, maybe this movie will actually have canon status. AU stuff is an obnoxious tiresome thing.

Caro on the other hand dresses like the pure girl she is.

It has the story setting and some characters from the second game, but not the P2 characters from the first one that are big deal in the second game, so it might not be a full adaptation, just a story borrowing parts of it.

At least the Iris character and giant mecha hint at that.

So it's going to be a retelling of GoD?

I don't like MonHun-style "literally twice the size of your body" weapons either.

I hope for the best but the Nanoha franchise has reached a point where pretty much every recent entry is a miss.
>>
>>15368062
>I don't like MonHun-style "literally twice the size of your body" weapons either.
Not so loud, you'll make Graf Eisen sad.
>>
>>15368117
I like Eisen and Vita is best girl just fine. For the most part it's kept the size of a crochet mallet and overall it works more solidly with Vita's character.

Earlier seasons tended to reserve huge weapons as alt-modes used for finishers because they were too clunky and unwieldy to work in regular combat. I think that the simple and practical aesthetic of the first three seasons' weapons was the best and FORCE-esque designs don't really fit in, especially when Vivid keeps with the relatively simple design philosophy that covers the majority of the franchise.

>>
>>15370525
I hope she gets a new single or album soon.

I also hope that her switch of record label will let her branch out more into stuff outside of the usual pop because while she's great at it, Yukarin's got a ton of range and some of her best stuff isn't even pop, like jazz or whatever you'd call Shinseiro's genre.
>>
>>15369993
Robot waifu and daughters? Sounds like he's living the dream.
>>
>>15370654
Honestly, I'd have no real issues with new Force content. Most of its more glaring issues were fairly superficial; they wouldn't be too hard to fix in an adaptation. Of course, it's rather moot, because at this point, making more Force content would be an exercise in futility from a commercial standpoint. While I think a Force adaptation has a lot of potential on a fundamental level, it's given itself a bad enough name that a lot of fans would almost certainly just dismiss it out of hand, as this anon demonstrates.
>>
>>15371285
Maybe it could still work. After all, Vivid has its haters too. And people who didn't even check it and don't mean to.
>>
>>15371285
Ehh, I really don't see any redeeming quality in Force. The only interesting thing might be the TSAB doing some shady shit on desolate planets but everything around the story, the characters and the villains and plots are all garbage.
>>
>>15371301
I mean, I didn't care for Vivid and dismissed Vivid Strike at first, but upon actually watching it enjoyed a lot more than the series it spun off from. It might have been far removed from the core series in terms of cast, but I found that spiritually it was the most Nanoha thing to come out of the franchise in a while, I was ever getting flashes of S1 and A's from it.
>>
>>15371385
You must be fucking kidding. You clearly just never enjoyed Nanoha in the first place.
>>
>>15371389
I enjoyed Nanoha in large part because it was a character focussed story concerned mainly with the protagonist(s) helping the antagonist(s) out with their shit, with the meat of the story concerned with that rather than more typical 'save the world' plot fare. Also because the combat was cool. As such I enjoyed Strike, which was that, more than Vivid proper, which was just tournament arc without much to get invested over.

...which you might have at least considered (if not agreed with) if you didn't look to be too busy reeing to yourself over how things are different and therefore suck and are bad and shit.
>>
>>15371441
>enjoyed a lot more than the series it spun off from
I think he might have misunderstood you as meaning that you enjoyed it more than the Nanoha series rather than Nanoha Vivid?
>>
>>15371441
Strike is indeed different and therefore sucks and it's bad and shit and the fact that you imply otherwise makes it hard for me to take you seriously. And that's besides the fact that you think it and the good seasons of Nanoha are even remotely alike.

Regardless, have you ever considered watching Symphogear? If you're going to watch something as retarded and stupid as Vivid Strike and enjoy it, you might as well watch something equally retarded and stupid that actually uses that to its advantage to be, you know, good. And as a side bonus, that way you won't be supporting the decay in quality of the Nanoha franchise.

Strike is nowhere near as good as the first couple seasons, but it's also more like them than Vivid is. I liked it because I had very low expectations and it exceeding them by a fair margin was a pleasant surprise.

>have you ever considered watching Symphogear?
I have considered this, and watched some of it and found it to be pretty decent but find myself with a curious utter lack of interest in it in spite of this. I don't know, maybe the constant singing is putting me off.

Well, people are free to like what they want (I like StrikerS obviously). But the problem with this faggot (aka "Bitch-kun" or "Bitch") is that he won't have that and insists everybody must hate exactly what he hates. And he won't stop letting everybody around hear about it, spamming endlessly.

When the thread is explicitly Reflection or just "Nanoha", he insists that Strikers and follow-ups don't belong there and that "spammers" shit his thread (naturally, while spamming himself).

When thread is actually titled as being about the followups (Vivid, Vivid Strike), he will still go in to whine about it anyway. Basically he's the kind of autist that enforces stupid rules on everyone but himself.

Man I have had enough of that little faggot - sorry for blogging. Also sorry for bringing him here by making the OP, but he probably won't take roots on /m/ hopefully, since Nanoha isn't discussed often.

Subaru was great, but she's hardly the only thing Strikers did well.

Fuck the haters, it's my favorite season. I won't deny its flaws - it gets off to a rather slow start, and the antagonist cast is bloated to the point that only a few of them get decent development - but if you ask me, it's a damn good series despite that.

I did like the Sci-Fi angle of StrikerS and the way the set up the TSAB but I really feel like they fell face flat with the execution in most episodes that aren't the most memorable ones like 17 and the finale. Plus there really wasn't nearly enough sci-fi world building.

Honestly StrikerS is like the second best entry in Nanoha overall even if there are multiple orders of magnitude separating the quality of StrikerS with the quality of A's.

I love Nanoha's character development through StrikerS even if it has her forever stuck in the kitchen in entries after it when in the first couple seasons she was very plain.

StrikerS has plenty of problems but if you cut out the unnecessary characters it's fairly solid. It has a lot of good ideas to it, as well as really cool and fun moments.
>>
>>15372123
>Honestly StrikerS is like the second best entry in Nanoha overall
My ass. The order goes A's > S1 > the others don't matter.

>but if you cut out the unnecessary characters
If I cut out the unnecessary characters then there would be no story. Which would be an upgrade to what we got, but still.
>>
>>15372123
>StrikerS is like the second best entry in Nanoha overall
It's tough to gage really. S1 hits some high notes, but it takes a third of the season to even start to pick up, and another third to properly get going. Strikers had pacing issues too, but there was a bit more to chew on than the earlier episodes of S1.

>I love Nanoha's character development through StrikerS even if it has her forever stuck in the kitchen in entries after it
Yeah, but this too is kind of the logical result of her character. Overworking herself straight into a forced early retirement (or highly extended sabbatical, at least) is entirely in her nature and kind of inevitable. Really, it's a mercy that she managed it without hospitalising herself again.
>>
>>15372189
In my opinion, S1 has most charm and impact (direction, visuals, feeling, novelty of it, Feito). As is most tightly packed and most thrilling of the three with least pacing/storytelling issues (it's the one that has highest chance to be liked by normies), but StrikerS still drives home some of my favourite individual elements and developments.
Each has something in the end.

>Overworking herself straight into a forced early retirement (or highly extended sabbatical, at least) is entirely in her nature and kind of inevitable. Really, it's a mercy that she managed it without hospitalising herself again.
Maybe I am getting old but I find retirement into peaceful family life the ultimate success a hero(ine) can achieve. Or one of possible versions of it, but I'm sucker for happy ends.

>>15372216

It really was a lucky break that she crippled herself just badly enough to take her off of active duty, since you just know that the only other ending for her is going off and getting herself fucking killed doing some damn fool thing and disregarding her own life (again).
>>
>>15372273
Don't encourage him, he feeds on (You)s.

Also, generally the people insisting that you have shit taste for enjoying a work of fiction are the diehard contrarians and aren't worth the effort of arguing with. Trust me, I've been through the whole palaver before, it just encourages them to post that dumb comic that compares liking a work of fiction to literally eating shit, and when the other person sinks the discourse to that level you have to acknowledge that it's not a debate or even an argument, it's just someone screeching smearing the walls with their own faeces. These people are madness, and you can't talk to madness, the best you can hope to do is trap it in the trunk of your limo and shoot it.

Force has disappointed me so badly, that now I'd rather just see them make something completely new in its vein instead. Way too much needed fixing there, and I really wanted to like it.

Well, Teana's bike was animated in StrikerS, so maybe these will be 2D

Should have obliterated her jacket too, at least a bit. I think it should have knocked her out instantly too, but hey, it is still almost perfect scene.

I wonder if it is final footage. Some of the aerial shots of Signum looked a bit quality to me. Hopefully they don't have the art quality issues that Vivid Strike had.

Apparently the shots that were also in the C91 teaser were slightly modified for this trailer so it all seems still work in progress.
