Rustal is an interesting case.
He's jovial, honest to his men and respects their wishes. But he's absolutely ruthless when it comes to dealing with his enemies and is well versed in manipulating the public opinion.

He's kind of a Ramba Ral type, if Ramba prioritized success over honor.

Even though Vidar, monkey and Iok did mostly fuck all, I still found the arrianrod team more likable and interesting than our protagonists. And I sure as fuck didn't root for tekkadan. S1 ending with Orga sending child soldiers to a suicide mission destroyed any sympathy I might have had for them.
