"There is no meaning to the paradox of Theseus"
>The ship of Theseus, also known as Theseus's paradox, is a thought experiment that raises the question of whether an object that has had all of its components replaced remains fundamentally the same object. The paradox is most notably recorded by Plutarch in Life of Theseus from the late first century. Plutarch asked whether a ship that had been restored by replacing every single wooden part remained the same ship.
This guy reminds me of Mujo from Scryed, but maybe it's just me.

why does he wear the mask?
>>15358762

He might just be looney enough to have one. Or else he's hiding a scar.
Seems I really dig ninja style running when robots do it.

>>15358861
Pretty neat effect, but I wonder if they actually have that type of propulsion inside the show.
>>15358867
Not the mysterious girl, that title is already taken by the cat fodder, but this gal hadn't been shown before.
>>15358744
Either he's got a boss or there's something else going on.
>>15358876
The number of human faces shown makes me think that, at least at first, plenty of folks are using I-machines quite normally.
>>15358883
Not the same girl as the others, I think.
>>15358888
>>15358889
Either that or these are pictures are from the past? We'll see.
>>15358895
>>15358898
It's probably too early to reach huge conclusions, but I could see the show having a neat Outlaw Star-ish vibe of fun action adventures in space even as it deals with the whole question of what happens to your identity upon replacing your entire body with an artificial vessel.
It's probably just going to be 1 cour, as far as I can tell, so the pace will be quicker.
Apparently, during the debut of the troll PV they asked people if they thought it was a moe anime and some folks raised their hands...only for the cast members to laugh and say that's not the case.

this would be 100 times better than whatever trainwreck we'll actually get

But there are still cute girls with mecha here.

No basis for that beyond your infinite pessimism.

> AI
You didn't get the memo about the robots being controlled by human consciousness, did you. The plot hook is that the main girl gets stuck in her I-machine without access to her body and we don't know if she'll get it back.
>>15359073
The I-machines have human minds uploaded to them. The idea is that you transfer your mind to the machine to operate it. The ones we've seen so far have all lost their human bodies and are "stuck" inhabiting their machines. The same thing happens to the main girl and the main plot is about her learning to live as a machine while trying to find a way to return to her human body.

>>15358738
>paradox of Theseus
>show about people brain uploading to robots
Neat.
>>15361485
Pay attention to the poster count when those sorts of post show up. It's most likely a handful of dedicated shitposters, much like the shitloads of lazy shitposting threads you see all the time.
>>15361432
Each show should be judged independently, but I'd say so. Code Geass had highs and lows, admittedly, and became a super hit. Active Raid was too focused on being anime toku and too lighthearted, which is fine in theory but obviously not everyone's cup of tea.
>>15361463
Different studio, different writer, different goals and approach.
Active Raid was explicitly presented as not having much common sense. The tagline even said so as well as the OP lyrics.
This show, in contrast, is explicitly giving us a tagline about memories being a big deal. The opening video is constructed very differently (the first Active Raid OP was literally nothing).
Is that Sayaka Sasaki? She's been pretty busy recently.

>>15361893
>Yeah, GitS already said that.
Just because GitS played with the idea does not mean no one else can tackle it, anon.
>>15361893
GITS did it in a military/political setting.
This seems to be more working class/private sector.
>>15361993
Especially because the paradox itself was not invented by GITS in the first place. It's been fair game for sci-fi literature and fiction.
>>15362069
Other difference is everyone in GITS looked human or at least could pass for one. Here there an I-machina looks like a robot right away.
>>15358760
No one cared he was.
I guess the second trailer was a total troll. This looks nothing like this.
>>15362683
That seems to be the case. Even in that trailer it seemed like the music and effects were way too out there, compared to the actual scenes being shown
