Why is it that different beams in Gundam have different colors when they're all made with the same particles?
I assume they add chemicals to give them colors so they can be identified by their team mates at a distance, much more usefull in space frontlines than paintjobs.
But because it looks cool is the obvious original reasson.

00 said it was something with frequency and particle refinement.

The real answer is just for flavor and identifying the protagonists from the antagonists.
An in-universe answer would probably be that different particle beam intensities give off different spectra of visible light.

Because toys.

Presumably they're different temperatures, or something like that. The reason that particle beam weapons are visible in space is because the particles are hot enough to glow, so I guess it's just different black body wavelengths.

The A.U.E.G. NEMO uses the same beam weapon as GMII's and the same beam sword as Rick Dias' mobile suits
It's because they need to mass produce stuff to kill eachother with, or to cut costs on manufacturing gunpla

or you can go with 08 ms team explanation, highest setting is red, lower setting blueish.

because all gundams in UC and other media are Sith with their crimson red lightsabers
While G, Gundam Wing and ETC are Jedi with green and blue ones
