you did it
>when you've watched almost all of patlabor and only have movie 2 and maybe movie 3 left
It's too good for this world

Maybe we'll get something with that cast (which was basically just genderbent versions of Asuma, Noa & Gotoh) from the reboot short eventually?
I don't get Patlabor. Nothing ever happens. You just sit there waiting for something to happen and it never does. Then you go "ok, maybe I need to see the OVA/TV version first and it will make sense" and you go watch that other version and the same thing happens, you sit there waiting for something to happen and it never does

Have you never watched any sort of police procedural-type show at all?
>ok, maybe I need to see the OVA/TV version first and it will make sense
Wait what you were talking about the movies? The ones that have a big melodramatic conspiracy plot instead for you to chew on?

There's an intro at the beginning of every episode that tells you what it's about. It's about the life of the SV2 and what they get up to.

I think the concept of episodic series are just lost on people nowadays, honestly. It's not anything unique to Police Procedurals.

I think people are conditioned to expect everything to be about big arcs and storylines with only little things being resolved in a given episode.
And it's not like Patlabor doesn't have longer stuff, mainly in the form of character arcs. They're growing and changing every episode, they're never really static.
