Mcneil and Swaile deserve more roles and exposure due being great voice actors. Since Hollywood is still on strike I kinda thought non-union VA's would get a huge opportunities to get more roles but nothing has changed.

Looking back at this show made me realize how great beam weaponry is. It really makes the battles look much more entertaining than just swinging conventional weapons. I hope the next Gundam won't pull an IBO and hopefully return to using beam weaponry again.

On another note, I heard somewhere that the lack of beam weaponry in IBO, aside from backstory, is to cut the cost of the models since apparently the transparent plastics used in beam sabers/rifle shots are expensive. Is this correct?

Interestingly the first HG 00 (Exia) didn't even come with beam saber clear parts, the beam saber is just solid white plastic toothpick you need to paint. However by the time of HG 00 Raiser Bandai packed in clear green part for GN Sword III and huge Raiser sword clear effect parts for both GN Sword II & III. Later design like 00 Qan[T] or AGE-FX demand even more clear parts. Maybe Bandai thought this clear plastic-fest went overboard.
But anyway, even if excluding two beam sabers only cut 1-2 yen of each kit production cost, if multiplied by million units the factory produced that's still a significant saving. That's just how manufacturing works.
