MG technology circa SEED Destiny era was perfectly fine. MG Destiny looks bad because the original Okawara lineart looks bad. MG Impulse here was redesigned by BEECRAFT and looks great.

Bandai's consistently redesigned the shit out of SEED stuff for all high profile releases because even they recognize Okawara phoned in his SEED stuff.
