Also I thought the thing with Tor was that he was played by an adult but he dressed like a kid so I thought he was supposed to be some nerdy teenager. He didn't really have a lot of involvement until his necessity was kind of forced in without much real foreshadowing.

MMPR knew what it was, and so did sentai when it started. More mature plots came from experimentation. Zyuranger was an experiment in terms of sentai by making it fantasy. MMPR on the other hand got it's start with that footage but more closely resembles Goranger in that the plots are more simple. MMPR once it got it's fans it grew and experimented with some major successes like Zeo and some failures like Turbo, with many examples of both as time goes on, as did sentai.

I actually like sentai as a whole better but I can acknowledge that sometimes the Power Rangers version is more enjoyable. Personally I don't consider a series that tries to be serious and ends up being silly like Zyuranger a success compared to MMPR which earned the right to be taken seriously over time.

In Goranger, the entire episode is dedicated to a plot. In MMPR, you have 15 minutes of filler, then a barely related monster comes out and they play some Zyuranger clips.

I can't think of a single PR season i enjoy more than the sentai it's based on, I'm not antiPR or whatever but i just cant think of any examples where they improved the shows.

Maybe RPM might work for someone tonally better than go-onger? But like that's about it..

Just got out of the movie. I was expecting a 4/10 and it was a 6.5/10
It hit all the notes for a PR story but was too caught up in trying to be a modern action film.

Tommy and Kimberly's "cameo" was them wearing their original coloured shirts (green and pink) and taking photos of the megazord as part of the crowd.

The bigger issue (and trust me, there are a LOT more) with KRT was the complete and total character assassination of the Showa Kamen Riders, Ichigo through J. Literally everything they said and did in that movie was in direct opposition to actions they, in their staring entries, performed or exemplified.
And yes, I've watched the Showa shows. As long as you can stand the camp and aged effects, they're still really enjoyable.
However, There are, under no circumstances, ANY Situation where they as uninfluenced, subjugated individuals (I.E.: their actions were not a result of brainwashing) where they would commit such acts, shun the assistance of the newer riders (who in previous teamups they had acknowledged already as being worthy of being called riders.) and attack them as opposed to talking things out clearly and working with them to resolve a crisis as presented in that film. In fact, they made everything worse with the bullheaded ignorance they operated under when they are FAR better than that, and were never, EVER given a valid reason to act as they did.

When your legacy heroes are turned into Hypocrites who end up acting more Villainous and do more to perpetuate the destruction of the world than the actual villains of your movie...You done fucked up.

Kamen Rider 1 The Movie did more justice than KRT.

At some points, the series was in the hands of people that actually cared to pay tribute to the original plot of the series it was base on, in other cases the directors worked on improving the plots of the ones that are actually near nonwatchable.

Yes, we know everything when to shit after wild beast, but one reason this happened is because of people like you ignore the attempts at mature content, they realize somewhere in-between time force that the series won't tribe on its core fan base alone like in Japan.

Early power ranger is plagued with good writing and improvements over the originals(Except Zion and Turbo bleh), and I fight you guys all day on it with proof if you so desire.

I sincerely think Wikd Force did pretty good stuff with it's villains and sixth ranger. They incorporated the pool thing with an american spirit and gave him a side character for the side character, the ending travelling the world with his dark side was also a great touch.
The struggles of the villains was cool, the power struggles worked better than most PR shows and the switch to comedy and back to drama felt like progression.
Making yellow a USAF officer, first ranger and but of an ass was cool, all their presentation episodes around the half of the show were pretty good.
I also liked how they took a few episodes before actually forming the Megazord and the pace for upgrades worked more or less great besides that time they got five just because.

I generally agree. The sentai is usually better. But not always. For example, Engine Sentai Go-Onger isn't better than Power Rangers RPM.

And the new Power Rangers movie is actually decent. My only real criticisms are the fight scenes, and I imagine they'll be better in the next one.

I saw the movie, I bought a Power Rangers collector's cup in the theater, and I'll probably buy it when it's out on bluray. I'm doing everything I can to support this franchise.

Just saw the movie and was amazed, simply amazed, at how much it didn't suck.It was everything I could've asked for with the exception of Zack being pretty underdeveloped and the Megazord just sort of happening out of nowhere.

Two questions:
1.) Why were there only five sets of footprints on the ship if there was a sixth (green) ranger?
