It was pretty dissapointing to me but i'd like the franchise to go on.

I fucking loved it. It felt like everything I liked about the first game tuned up. It could've used more unique stages for both characters though.

Who knows? The Capcom side is reluctant on doing anything besides guest appearances (they don't even bother to port over/compile anything to more modern consoles besides the NES games now), the Archie Comic has been quietly been cancelled and the only thing keeping the series present is the Man of Action cartoon. At least the fans are making their own games, though they still need room for improvement.

Also, that Glitch Strikers thing, although that's more of a general NES tribute.

WHy hasn't there been a single Japanese anime about the classic or X series? That shit would sell hard.

No idea. Those two are part of an era of potential video game anime TV shows that should have been made in the 90s, like Sonic the Hedgehog. When even Virtua Fighter of all things got one, it should have been a no-brainer.

The fact that the only Mega Man-related thing Production Reed did was some animation for the campy RS cartoon baffles me to this day.

Why does everyone forget that the "Rockman: Wish Upon a Star" OVA exist? It was why I was highly incredulous of the whole "holy shit; the pilot of the American cartoon looked like an anime!!!" thing, because it just looked like footage from Wish Upon a Star.

That being said, Japan never really seemed all that interested in animating video games; at least, compared to America.

The Battle Network anime was pretty rad, though. At least until the Cross Fusion stuff started to happen.

The nature of Battle Network just made a much easier fit. Since it was an RPG, there was plenty of story characterization already written. The protagonist being a human kid and the card-collecting element also made it an easier sell as a kids show.
Also, different times. Maybe the planets just happened to align in available anime studios, contacts and marketing plants to allow the Battle Network anime to happen, while that maybe maybe didn't happen at the time of X's peek popularity.
