It is indeed quite strange considering that there multiple versions of the same mobile suit with only minimal differences. It shouldn't matter to bandai that burnlapius looks the same as aesulapius since they would be bought anyways by fans.

I want so many kits from G-Unit. UC-centric MS motifs, count me in.

I'm pretty sure that the main G-Unit MS got kits when the manga was running, but then again that was ages ago, so the quality of the kits is questionable.
