Now he openly declares that his former ideals (that he only expressed support of, in an attempt to get the trust of and get close to McGillis) were nothing more than an illusion for him. McGillis should've made sure he was dead last season. Bleed a liberal and get a fascist still remains as true as ever

Them showing someone in a mid tier frame but has a fairly high level of AV fighting in a way that is abnormally fluid. As if they are fighting a human with a weaponized machine body that they've learned how to fight in.

On some level it reminds me of the interesting notion of human beings cyberizing themselves in particular ways and creating martial arts based around that in battle angel alita and how the transformers would use judo and wrestling moves.

They don't fight like they are humans who are wearing armor. They fight like humans that are in giant machines that are extensions of their body and they can do and pull off amazing shit if given enough time to mentally acclamate themselves to the machine and any new tech that's placed in it.

Him being able to use his natural fighting skill and post AV system gundam piloting skill together and the fluid movements was fantasticallly done.

Now if we could have seen more high level AV users in frames or pushed to their limits grunt units doing stuff that cool while mowing down normal pilots and even ai driven back up machines. That would have been boss.

-Didn't confirm the Gaelio kill when he had all the time in the world
-All he managed to advance in GJ during the timeskip was getting Carta's useless position after all that planning
-Performed a coup and took over the main HQ but didn't take opportunity to acquire 5 Gundams in pristine condition and lots of Dainsleifs
-Didn't pursue Vidar and killed him after getting Bael when he had everything to accomplish this
-Didn't bother to upgrade his army from vanilla Grazes or even get a new capital ship for him
-Didn't give the perfected AV surgery to his army, even to his most trusted followers so they could use the 7S Gundams or simply give new cockpits to existing MS
-Chose to pilot a fucking Ritter instead of the Schwalbe which can fly in the atmosphere or get a custom Reginlaze if he didn't have any spare Valkyrja Frames
-Stopped using ranged weaponry for no reason while using the Ritter
-Upgraded the nimble Grimgerde into a MS that's fucking useless besides fighting MAs
-Didn't get hit once in S1, but almost died to fucking Takaki in S2. Couldn't even dodge a hit from the MA
-Didn't even consider some people wouldn't follow him after getting Bael
-Lost a sword made of the rarest metal in the universe during the 1st fight against Punished Gaelio
-After Bael strategy failed he had no backup plans or troops

McGillis, on the other hand, could benefit from Orga's death. He wants Mika to thrash all of Rustal's men present, not run away to Earth. McGillis knows Mika only follows Orga, so with Orga out of the way Mika may either be easier to manipulate into fighting this battle or going out there in a berserker rage. Plus, McGillis disappeared after his diversion and knew where Orga was heading.
