And in that episode Eugene did talk about Shino with Yamagi, so the two people closest to him had a moment mourning him and respecting his memory. Also, if you haven't noticed by now, most of Tekkadan never feel guilty about anything;they see everything as risks that are taken to better Tekkadan as a whole and accept that. The only person who ever feels guilty is Orga, who we did see feeling pretty guilty, maybe not about Shino in particular, but for all of those who lost their life in his gamble during that battle, which is what he should be, as their leader.

I think the thing with IBO is, how should I put this, a lot of the show's problems are not uncommon. In fact, I think the show could serve as a microcosm of what can go wrong with a long running shonen series. While it has no real filler episodes since each contributes to the plot in some way, it doesn't stop the show from feeling padded and at times repetitive. While Tekkadan do have a goal for themselves complete with title like Hokage or King of the Pirates, a lot of the time their involvement feels more reactive to what's going on around them than them being proactive. With a few exceptions, the protagonists don't really feel they have grown all that much after they were more formally introduced and at times have become less interesting as time goes on.

IBO just feels more committee-designed to me in a way that reminds me of AGE. Whereas AGE set out to encompasses every Gundam trope during it's run, IBO is more like shonen distilled down to it's simplest form. I feel it lacks a lot of the strengths of the shows it tries to emulate and falls apart under it's own weight as the weaknesses pile up on top of what was a very solid, very hype first couple of arcs.

The point, once again, is that an episode which puts in scenes of levity would be the right episode to fit in a passing mention of Shino by the rest of the cast, not in some unforeseeable future. Is this so hard to understand? Otherwise if the ep is trying to evoke a sense of urgency, then the scenes with Atra have no place in it either, no matter how "main" her romantic subplot is. It makes for a badly written episode which can't balance the tone.

A lot of people insist that G Reco's story was complicated but I found it to be simple and it gets backlash because some fans insist it was a masterpiece(it was a good series, but far from masterpiece).

I still can't decide if I like or hate IBO and I've been watching it from the beginning.If it ends and I still don't know where I stand, I will watch the dub(hearing it in my own language might help me decide).

I'm pretty sure that G-Reco doesn't actually have this annoying fanbase. This is something I started thinking about because in the beginning, you had the really aggressive pro-G-Reco posters who insisted the show was brilliant and would tell you to go back to A/Z, but then there were other posters who said those weren't real G-Reco fans and it was shitposters false flagging.

But then after the show ended the latter completely disappeared and literally all G-Reco threads begin with "it's a masterpiece" and everyone who doesn't agree "just didn't get it" and gets called retarded until they stop trying. So I think maybe G-Reco never actually had fans. I think it had a lot of seasonal watchers who watched it because "it's Gundam" and they didn't hate it, but it wasn't exactly an amazing show to them either, they just didn't think it was shit. And all the diehard "fans" actually were shitposters false flagging.

Now that the seasonal watchers are done, pretty much only shitposting trolls remain, pretending they are fans because it gets /m/ riled up.

Either that or G-Reco fans actually are that insufferable.

The story is actually pretty simple, but for some reason some screenwriters believe presenting a simple story like something complex and opaque thanks to incompetent exposition (which usually involves drowing the audience in details and scenes that are neither implants nor essential to the understanding of the plot) will make it good/deep. It does not. It only leaves viewers behind, unable to enjoy what they're watching until they do understand. Sure it's okay to go through that phase when watching a movie, but it should never be too long. We're past the age when we had nothing to do except read books, or were stuck in the theater for 3 hours straight. You just can't do that shit anymore, especially for an animated series. Not even, From what little we saw of Yamagi, like the scenes of him bossing around Dane and the rest of the crew, manipulating Ride or puting Hush in his place, showed he held way more potential to be interesting and entertaining than your boy. IBO S1 had the cast and pacing of a 50 episode show in 25 episodes. I seriously was not able to believe it when they said S2 was unplanned because so little actually happened. It was like constant buildup with no payoff.

Then S2 is 25 episodes trying to develop the cast of a 50 episode show and also progress the plot when the entire season before was basically wasted and is dead weight. It's a mess.

Literally 90% of Tekkadan is just a bunch of literally whos who neither die nor kill.

Derringer said was that IBO was not originally planned as a split season show, which could mean a couple of things. It doesn't help that we do know things from the end of last season were implemented for the sake of this season, like Carta dying when she was originally planned to be in season 2 or how when McGillis attempts to kill Gaelio, his sword is shown piercing the side of the machine's cockpit rather than dead on.

When one considers how hard it would be to reassemble the cast on short notice for an impromptu second season, it seems more likely that IBO was originally planned as 50 episodes straight rather than 2 25 episode seasons.

Okay, sure. By your extrapolation, I can do plenty with Takaki. His bickering with Ride, his need acceptance of Radice as family and insistence on it making it all the more character-turning and pivotal that he murdered him later, even if you think Mika "coerced" him into it. He was shown he was thinking rationally as he calmly did it. His insistence on absorbing Aston, his fanboying of Mika and the way Mika's words pushed him away, all of this is character conflict that Yamagi has never had to go through.

Takaki had character relationships with Akihiro, Mika, Ride, Yamagi, Aston, Fuka, Biscuit, and Chad out of Tekkadan. What does Yamagi have? Ordering Dane to work faster and Nadi being like a Dad to him. Otherwise it's just Muh Shino.

Shino and Eugene are more pathetic excuses for characters, I don't know how either have any fans. Shino is a one note hot blooded "genki" perv and Eugene is a one note tsundere tryhard. But even with how much they suck compared to Takaki, at least they don't fully orbit around only one character like Yamagi does. Well, I guess Eugene is just as shit as Yamagi as he only orbits around Orga.

Most art of Takaki is with him and Aston now, but before that it was mostly him and just random pairings. He cant help that he's beautiful.

Takaki was literally orbiting every single character he was ever paired off with, until they moved on and he got pushed over to another one without any sort of follow up from the previous one. The one time where he wasn't orbiting was with Aston, until he fucked that up and ended up alone, which finally and definitely propelled him out of the show, as there was literally no room for him to latch onto anyone anymore. All of his relationships are boring and one-sided, with the exception of Ride, for a while.
As for Shino, you're retarded. Had he lived he'd have been the only character that walked out of this show with any kind of positive character developement. Going from being suicidal in S1, to someone who wants to live. That's more substantial than whatever the shit was takaki's conclusion supposed to be.

Nothing will change the fact that at that time takaki was this kinf of person, taking inspiration from Orga, willing to throw his life for Orga, listening to his ridiculous speech while nodding furiously and clutching Biscuit's hat. Only when Tekkadan became bigger and richer did Takaki realize that he actually was never a Tekkadan to begin with. He has a family, something which most of them do not have. Kind of like Biscuit, or Zack. All of them ended up wanting to leave. It was not because of Orga, it was because they had a place to fall back to. And that's exactly how takaki acted. If it wasn't for Fuuka, he would have put up with it like all the rest. That was the whole point of the scene with his sister right before the meeting. Tekkadan was basically just a stepping stone for Takaki to regaining his normal family life.

This doesn't add up because Takaki was exactly this kind of person as well, even when Tekkadan was poor and Fuuka's life was more dependant on him living and making that wage.
Same for Biscuit, he eventually made the decision he was not going to leave. I'm not white knighting Orga's decisions I think it's a mixture of both. But I also think it's natural for people with more normal backgrounds to fall off eventually. It's one of the instances where the show demonstrates its questionable moral values because it teaches that people with no attachements make for better soldiers, or disposable tools depending on how you want to see it.
As for Takaki it's also kind of ironic because although Tekkadan didn't suit him in the end it was also Tekkadan which enabled him the calm and happy retirement, after all.

Dude, most of Tekkan has seen worse. ESPECIALLY in Edmonton, which was hell compared to the leisurous pace of galan's pretend-war. It was an intense, three days non stop of hell where Tekkadan kids were dropping like flies.

Danji was on the memorial because he was Shino's close friend, so he got a mention. All the other deaths are those who died on the way and down on Earth and nobody else. About a 100 went to Earth, about a half returned, the memorial has about 50 names on it. That's the math.
