Astray actually sold well in Japan. It's not like it's being done without reason, although I'd agree the Gold Frame Amatsu was one of those 'there's no way they're going to do that' choices. I can't imagine anyone expected that especially after how long it took to get an HG kit of it.

I think the HG kit selling well above expectations caught them offguard and that was a factor in the choice.
