Its easier to handwave away how the mc is already adapted to the world by having them grow up in it while getting a sort of second chance to have the cool and successful life they always wanted. There was some transported/teleported style ones early in this fad, but they got pretty quickly overrun.

Plus most of these just have the isekai element tacked on and don't do much plot or story wise with it after like 3 chapters. Really you could just remove it from half of them and nothing would change in the story.

Basically, the world of Rance is seriously fucked up. Fucked up enough that a serial rapist with no understanding of "no" is the good guy.

Basically: Giant space whale (literally) creates world because so bored. But, world is a lot of work so creates gods to run world for it. Tells them to keep it occupied.

Rance is literally an abberation; a glitch born with no level-cap who's grown up full harem mode. Far as he's concerned, 'no' is just what they say when they're embarassed, and invariably his fucking's good enough that they just fall for him right there. He's not 'evil' but rather completely running on instinct (in fact he's been alignment-checked in the setting on that matter; no 'power' fantasy or anything in his head doing it, no, he just cannot understand the concept of anything NOT wanting to sleep with him because it makes no sense)

... All that said, the games are actually really fucking good, even if you ignore the sex. Even the story!

This makes Eru's advantage have slightly less impact because the pilot can use his super-efficient magic as long as it's installed on the mech, and mechs have their own magic reservoir independent to the pilot, so the pilots own reservoir doesn't matter as much. In fact, outside of the arc finale battles, Eru doesn't really fight, and battles are usually handled by his Knight group's captains. Instead Eru just focuses on mech development.

I'm not saying Eru isn't your usual OP Isekai MC, but I find the execution of him to be less annoying than other Isekai series.

Is "National Technological Robotics Laboratory" or "NTR Labs" really the exact name of the kingdom-sanctioned development team in the WN/LN raws or is it just the translator's idea of a funny joke?

Nah, vol 1 can't be extended to 13 episodes. It never works like that. 2 LNs is the bare minimum for these LN to anime adaptations, and the average is 3/4. There have been plenty of times that the anime goes ahead of the manga.

One of the visuals shows Ikaruga, it'll probably reach the end of 4 at least. Volume 1 will make up about 3 episode, maybe less if they decide to cut out some of the trivial stuff or world building. It's probably the easiest volume to rush.

The "love rival" seems to disappear entirely after arc 4 or volume 2. So probably by episode 5/6, she'll be gone. Even then, her glomping of Eru ends after volume 1. If it continues after that, then that's anime original.

Now, let's be fair about the third point. Eru is a bit more balanced in mech battles because of the limitations of his mech in the first 3 volumes, but once he makes Ikaruga, he becomes a slaughter machine. In volume 4, there's no question if Eru will win in a battle no matter who the individual foe is. The battles with Eru in them are basically what would happen if you put a Super Robot in a Real Robot series. One robot can't do everything, and what ultimately wins in Vol 4 are technological advancements and tactics, sure, but individually, Eru is invincible, and that might be enough to annoy people. His obsession is so fun though that I can't hate him at all, personally speaking.
