I really liked that they not only set up Kotaro as a character here, but they set up his motivation and goals. Also they not only worked on setting up his relationship with Stinger, but they also used him as a comparison point to Stinger's own brother problems.

There's no way he isn't Skyblue at this point. They really did great on his introduction.

In addition to Balance and Naga Stinger is great, and Raptor has a very strong focus episode. Champ also pretty good so far.

I also think Kotaro, if he does end up being Skyblue, had a strong introduction too that set his character up while still having time to focus on Stinger without feeling rushed. The action has been strong in every episode, and everyone is at least likable on the surface level.

The show's biggest problem right now is learning to balance the large main cast. Stinger being on his own is going to really help with that. I think now that introductions are over we'll see how they really do with it.

The action to me isn't very good either, it's not bad, it's just average Sentai action.

I'm not sure about you but for 5 episodes that's not a bad list considering they had to shovel out 9 rangers in such a short time. So far the only true negative is yosha rucky which could be solved by him simply not saying it as much. I don't even mind that he says "let's test your luck" after the roll call. if they just watered him down a tad bit I'd be willing to say in 50 episodes this will rival koryu. (in my book at least)

Completely new. I watched Changeman even before Power Rangers existed, but I was a kid and it was long ago. Still, the only one who looks a little bit metrosexual there is Shou, and even then compared to this kids nowadays he was manly as fuck.
In any case, I've watched the first 5 episodes from Kyurangers. The thing that bothers me the most is all the characters talking like kids with hearing issues. The hero tries too hard to be likable but I guess it's understandable. But what really irked me is all this bullshit about "yeah, if you have a dream just buy the thingy we use in the hand and everything will happen" that went on with the pink one.
One of the things I used to hate about American entertainment for kids is how condescending they were. And this show gives me that same vibe. I'll watch it to see where it goes, though; and mostly because I've never watched an actual super sentai from beginning to end.

I don't think anyone past the Ghost crossover ever insinuated that every moment of Zyuoh was perfect. To be honest, I don't even really blame people for going that easy on it. They were desperate for something good after the mediocrity of Ninninger. I felt exactly like they did. If anything, far more people were giving that undeserved charity to Zyuoh than to Kyuranger.

Opinions will change and mature over time. I'd say that looking back over the last year, a lot more people have had time to reflect and evaluate, and that's for the better. The only thing hampering proper discussion about the show now is Amuposting.

Jetman is generally the recommendation for what sentai to watch first.
Zyuranger seems divisive but the villain and the action are top tier.

GoGoV is the closest sentai gets to fighting demons from hell.
