It's not finished at all. I'm still waiting for the kit coming in that I'll be stealing the head from, then I need to decide on a color scheme and get painting.

The Gastima is a solid kit all around. I was surprised since my other G-Reco purposes were really disappointing. Especially the G-Lucifer. But the Gastima feels really solid, has decent articulation, and has a variety of stuff to play with and swap out that I didn't even realize when I bought the kit.

Sometime down the line if I can pick a second one up for cheap I'd totally get one to just have a complete one.

that would be because Harkonen was deliberatly modeled off of Dendrobium. In the manga volumes he has some silly rambling pages at the end, Gundam comes up a LOT. Pretty sure some chapters were named after gundam in some way. If not there are still numerous other game and show titles among those chapter names, he seems to be quite the otaku of western media, especially strategy games.

Dad is an international businessman, mom is a PhD. They have some money for sure. But I don't spend anything on consoles and buy 1 or 2 steam games on sale each year. So it isn't an either-or gunpla budget, it's both-and.

To be fair, US$500 for a Dendro, a couple Meteor Units, and misc detailing bits is more than is wise to spend for most people. Let my life be a warning to you, anon! <3

Also money is a sensitive topic for some people, and having been warned about mentioning gender on gunpla general, I'd prefer not to talk more about $ here.

1/144 hobbybase kiwami hands arrived for Stamen. Hope they're not as fragile as everyone makes them out to be. 3mm magnets also arrived, so it looks like aside from new hands she's also gonna finally get the old weapon magnet stealth attached on backpack. They are made of fairly cheaper plastic and the main thing to watch out for is the c-joint clip at the base of each finger. If it stresses or breaks even a little it is going to fall off a lot.

Also those may be too big for the stamen. They are sized for larger stuff like Nu and Unicorn.

Clear acrylic paints. Just be aware that with clear colors a bit of the base plastic color will show through and alter the colors you paint on top so you won't be able to paint over it with certain weaker colors like yellow.

Red should work fine over the pink though.

went to my local comic shop to check out their selection today and was surprised to find pic related, along with some other g-unit kits, a bunch of old wing 1/100s (for the nostalgiabois) and a really great selection of kits new and old.

i picked up a HGUC gm custom and the hydra and i'm pretty excite

For the logos? I just chose a close enough font, if not the exact font, and fiddled around in Photoshop.

As for the comic title fonts, I usually search for fitting fonts on sites like 1001fonts and dafont. The regular text is called Anime Ace.

Which kit is your biggest regret?

For me it's the RG MK-II Titans. Mostly because I used the stickers and topcoated with Krylon Matte.

1. Stickers on dark colors = BAD

The first time I cut myself and scratched the plastic at the same time, and the piece was contaminated in a way I couldn't clean. It's actually gunmetal, with aluminum for the surface scratches. I went with heavy dry brushing with aluminum followed by focused application of gunmetal. Next time I might reverse that.

Incredibly fun. One of the first kits I really went whole-hog painting (if poorly) and reuses enough of the vanilla 00 Gundam to give you an incredible amount of accessories. Do yourself a favor and paint all of the thrusters red on the inside and thr grey dots on top of the shoulders gold or orangem Kit looks way better when done that way. Also note that the rifle is pretty fragile and of course, RG shoulders. If the kits torso seems to want to slump to one side when completed, spray the inner joint structure to decrease the tolerances and it should have a straight spine then. There's not a lot of suits outside of the IBO line that utilize blunt weapons, especially since the guy who did the charts seemed to prefer MGs or 1/100 scale.

Outside of scratchbuilding or kitbashing from the IBO line, Nora's suit can't have a hammer. The best you can do is the Heavyarms using the gatling gun as a blunt weapon.

I have 2.
1. Full armor gundam thunderbolt ver ka. it looks gorgeous and I was so excited when I snapped it together. it took me almost a week to do. Then I decided to panel line, top coat, and decal it. It looked stunning. I was going to put on one more top coat in the morning over the water slides but before I woke up the waterslides stopped sticking and fell off, tore apart, and got ruined. the kid looked awful now and now I have to wait to find replacement decals and take off the remaining pieces of waterslides without ruining any of the top coat and panel lines.
>TLDR full armor gundam thunderbolt ver ka has the worst water slides ever only put them on if you are going to top coat immediately.

2. Rg exia. the kit is solid I'd give it a 8.5/10 if not a little higher. Probably the best rg in general. Anyways this was my first time doing a panel wash on it. I tried to wipe some off but running alcohol didn't take it off. So I decided to try paint stripper. the stripper ate through the plastic on the arm and completely destroyed it and the inner frame too.

For the ones here who snapbuild, Have you experienced issues with the white parts of your kits where the nubs start yellowing over time?

I've had this MG Unicorn on the shelf for approximately 10 months and when I took it out I noticed the yellowing on where the nubs used to be. I did notice that this only happens on bandai kits since my Daban Nu ver.Ka hasn't had this problem

Nah, will resin cast copies of it. It's an easier shape to hook the metal barrels into than the main cannon housing. Main cannon is too thin to fit hexagonnaly arranged barrels of the same diameter.

It is pretty dated. The hands take a little work to get them to hold the shotguns, and it might just be mine, but this little piece that fills in the shotguns is really loose along with some yellow pieces on the chest. However, I think the proportions and design is way better than the popular 3rd party one and it looks fantastic. Articulation is ok, but not great. The OOB colors are way off though. Probably the best part of it is all the weapons you get and loading it out.

if you are lacking imagination, just look up stuff, whether it be art, more mech designs, or literally anything. if anything, just watch more shows until you see a color scheme you like.

It's a shame, I don't hate the kit but it could have been so much better. The transformations should have been dropped entirely
